The good news is that it really doesn't take long to change it and they are pretty quick sending it. So, when you can burn some fuel out of it, it'll only be a week or so after that and you will have it in.
So looks like my sender freed up! I noticed the fuel was out of the filler neck so I put some Quicksilver Quick Kleen in both tanks. Went to run port and saw the fuel gage over 3/4! I don’t know why the fuel backed up, maybe an air bubble? Also I don’t know if the Quick Kleen freed up the sender!
I went to top off the port tank and the fuel backed up again in the filler. There must be an issue with the vent and the fuel slowly goes into the tank when it sits. I researched a little and it seems to be a common issue. Did Rinker put a charcoal canister inline with the vent line? I didn’t have time to check earlier. There’re known to cause an issue like this.
Seems I remember my port vent line has a bigger natural sag than I wanted to see, but hasn't been a problem when filling fuel like I suspected it would.
I checked for sags in the vent line yesterday, all looked good. Today I opened the fuel cap and blew in it, no air or fuel out of the vent. Since I now know I don’t have a full tank I’ll pull the vent line off and check out the hose side and the tank side.
I loosened the vent line on the tank. I started to pull it off and fuel started dripping, I tightened the clamps back up. I’m thinking the boat is slightly on an angle on the blocks. When the hauler is here I’ll have him level the boat on the trailer and try to put some fuel in.
I have the new sender, just haven’t had the time to install it. Also the o ring that came with it is dried out and cracked, so I have to get a new o ring. I was able to order from Rinker, This is the part number they said is installed in the 330.
@YYZRC , I have my good meter on the boat. I tried with a cheap Harbor Freight meter and can’t get a good reading. I will be at the boat in a couple of days and can get the meter if you still need it.
I replaced my port sender that was reading off on the full side today. Very easy to access. Just remove the cockpit fridge then remove the access panel to get to the sender.
I topped off the tanks yesterday with some gas cans. I was surprised at how much fuel I had in her from last season. I only needed about 15 gallons per side. Happy to say that my port fuel gauge is now reading full.
