Rinker Yan / Handyman 342 blast from the past! - Hey guys, having a great visit from our beloved Handy (Steve) who made is way north with his wife in his RV to Nova Scotia Canada for a visit last week. Of course we had to hit the waters of Mahone Bay in my 212 and venture over to the working site of the ongoing treasure hunt on Oak Island. Good ol' Steve sitting in the captains chair until I had to boot him out so we wouldn't run aground out there haha. For those that know him, we have had a few good conversations about "current affairs" as well
Steve says hi to the old gang and we enjoyed playing tour guide with them all last week.
This floating pier in Paducah Kentucky handles spring floods up to 50 feet. It's an impressive work of civil engineering. Now I understand why there aren't a lot of marinas on this part of the Ohio River!

We just did a road trip up north and a small town on the border Calais (US) St Stephen (CA) has a waterway with a 22’ tide when we were there on Oct 25. Flood prep is good and hope not needed, these guys twice a day!
I was dreaming of summer boating so I looked at the Facebook page of Dent Island Lodge where we went this summer and saw they posted an aerial photo when we were there. We were on the boat on the right with all the solar panels.
It is amazing how rich some people become...or are given. If i could have had just a little mix up at the hospital when I was born...or maybe it did! Hey! That might be my boat!
We're in Columbus Mississippi parked next to this awesome beauty! The owner was headed for the Gulf when he ran aground and wrecked the props. He had her towed to this marina, where she has sat ... untouched ... for 15 years. Every month, he pays the slip fee and the marina owner sprays for wasps. Meanwhile the boat is slowly crumbling into nothing. The VHF antennas actually have lichen growing on them!
I bet she was a nice boat 15 years ago. Now you couldn't give her away.

I’d take that project on!
Assuming it's diesel powered. With twin gas motors I wouldn't be able to afford to leave the slip more than once or twice a season.
