Doing some lake boating today... I can get into it and enjoy it.. I think it would probably get a little mundane after a bunch of times out, the fresh water is very nice though!!
That sucks. Where abouts? I used to be able to click on a pic on the forum and expand it. Maybe it's my new phone but can't seem to do it anymore. Had a similar experience my first trip up the Severn to Midland. Came out of the Green Island narrows into Waubashene Bay and my chartplotter shows a secondary route across to Beausoleil Island rather than heading towards Midland and cutting back. Saw another boat in front of me, a local I think, so decided to save time with the shortcut. I swear I was right on the nav line, on plane at about 26 mph and as we approached Ross Shoal I caught something out of the corner of my eye. Looking back in my wash I saw we missed a jagged tooth sticking up that I missed by about 5 feet. Would have torn the hull open for sure. I chopped the throttle and when we settled I looked around and we were surrounded by rocks just below the surface. I idled all the way back staying on my track in until we made it back out to the main channel. I still sometimes get a little butt pucker when I think of that day. There are no short cuts in Georgian Bay.

I remember in my younger days when I'd be catching swarms. I raised bees, but also my neighbors did as well. So, when we saw a swarm, we had to try to figure out which hive was getting raided by another queen. I don't miss those days!

Coming out of Frying Pan Bay. Luckily we were under 2000 rpm just enjoying the evening. Wasn't paying enough attention.
Yikes!! You navigated some skinny water there!
