I have a 2009 rinker 276 captiva bow rider. There is a fat green wire that hangs down by the bilge

Pump. It is not hooked to anything. It has a circle brass fitting on it. It just hangs there, I think it is a ground.help.

Multi meter on continuity is your friend, friend.. :-) if its a ground, it will be common with other grounds.. if its hot, it will be common with other hots.. if there is a fuse involved, and its blown, you'll not be able to check this until you replace that fuse.

Almost definately a bond wire for the through hull. No pics with me while I sit in a tragically boring meeting. Maybe this evening Il dig one up.

I have traced the wire down and it goes to a ground block at the back of the boat. This wire may not have a purpos, but it seems like it should connect to the motor. Any thoughts?

I think I have a green ground wire attached to my fuel tank.

FYI, I have discovered a ton of unconnected wires in my boat, including the mentioned green wire. I suspect most Rinkers comes pre wired for options you might not have. The one in the bilge is probably a ground strap for the genset. Mine was ordered without a bow windlass, when I started to install my new Lewmar winch I found that the wires where already installed, thanks Rinker
