Ras, nice work - got any pictures? I really like the Meguiars products. been using them on black hulls and colored hulls for 15 years. The big trick is to stay on top of it!
guys i went ahead and purchased that poli glow stuff.... o man went in the trash after 2 mins... blue liquid is just concentrated degreaser that stains white gel coat and the poly glow crap seems to some sort of VARNISH as instructions say this is probly for people with no experience in paint restoration or something......
Just because you don't know how to use it does not mean it is crap. It is not made for every application. I used it on my boat and all summer long I kept getting compliments on how shiny my boat was.
No longer a boat owner.....previous boat - 2005 Rinker Fiesta Vee 342
I just got a quote for 2k for wrapping my boat, 360. After lots of research I'm likely going for it. I looked into painting but everywhere around here is at least $300 a foot and timing is not ideal. I get good results with compounding but it chalks back up quicker every year (blue hull). I may have a nice Dewalt buffer for sale in the spring...
@Steve, not quite a 1/4" but it is thicker than many and can take several healthy compoundings. IMO, what is on Steve's pad is fine for the area done. It doesn't take the removal of much oxidation to color the pad to that extent.
I thought he had the gelcoat done professionally not long ago. Did it fade again? By the way the gelcoat thickness on my 300 2007 is about 1.45 mm (0.056 ") I took that measurement from a plug that was cutout when I had the bow thruster installed
My wool pads look like that after doing a quarter of my boat using Presta Super Cut Compound. Looks good Handy. My blue hull is ready for you. You won't even break a sweat either as it was only -17F yesterday..

Got my blue looking good for a change
there is a lot of blue on the buffer pad is it from the gelcoat or the compound that you use?
Well I buffed every inch. I have no more shoulders left but it turned out ok.
