I'm on the South River, in South River Marina. Just south of Annapolis, almost in view of Thomas Point lighthouse on the Chesapeake. Guess, the picture really isn't worth much, but it was what I could find.

Great dockmaster and the rate is right too. Sweet deal and lucky you nhsd.

That's a really beautiful shot Boomer.

In-water slip rates around us are a bit prohibitive for our FV270 averaging around $400-600mthly, requiring an annual lease to boot, so my "cobertizo para botes" has 6 wheels and lives in a steel shop in the backyard. For us the whole state is our playground in only a few hrs at most, or typically at our favorite spot in 30mins.

That said I think I envy the camaraderie, conveniences and spontaneity of a Marina but rarely use one. As old sailors we always just hang on the hook in one of the many quiet spots around SW Fl.

The english translation of the spanish word Marina is nautical or sea so here's our typical weekend "marina". For us it's usually a long weekend at 27.20N 82.35W

Tranquilo Paraíso is where YOU find it.
Have a great season wherever you are.

Lauritzen yacht harbor in Oakley CA. been in business for 55 years. Family ran a ferry service before bridges were built. Their ferries took people from San Francisco to Oakland after the 1906 earthquake. My 40 x 14 slip cost $279 + elect a month which includes a boat wash every month and a detail every year.

Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort is named after the historic Chesapeake sailing workboat, the "Skipjack".<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort is a family oriented premier marina on the Chesapeake Bay's beautiful Sassafras River. It is located minutes from the Chesapeake Bay in a lovely and protected cove. The Sassafras River remains as it was many years ago with peaceful anchorages and small beaches to enjoy. The water is fresh which means good swimming and no sea nettles.

Wish our Illinois River marina looked like this right now, instead of its current very flooded state. Got the boat out of storage today, but with the flood, and the shop that's going to be doing bottom paint a bit under water, we might be on the driveway awhile.image

Sorry about the high water delay but that's a cool hi-rez shot. Hey, I think you starboard dock line needs a tweak and there's a soda can on the floor. Big brother is watching us from far above, eh? ;)

Our home port is the Algonac Harbour Club in Algonac, Michigan. The marina is the original site of the former Chris Craft factory from the early 1900's. It's a full service marina and great place to hang out for the summer. Look for the blue water tower on the North Channel they have lots of transient slips. Stop by and see us if your in port.

I am guessing that covered slips are not the norm back East. I could not stand being in a open slip. A lot of rain in the winter and intense sun in the summer here in northern California. Yesterday (May 2) the temps at the boat were in the high 90's.

Home is on the Magothy River, Chesapeake Bay. Boat was nestled back in her slip last weekend. Hoping for some warmer, sunnier weather at the moment!

Here is a picture of my marina floating down the Allegheny River during the floods the day after Hurricane Ivan hit the Pittsburgh area. I found my boat 14 river miles away after it crossed the Emsworth Dam on the Ohio River.

I was checking to see if my old boat was in that picture. It made it almost all the way to Wheeling (over several locks & dams) before washing up on shore. Good to have insurance

What boat was yours? This is from the old Allegheny Marina in Pittsburgh. Mine is the blue 232cc in the picture. That marina used to be the Rinker dealer in town so there were a lot of Rinker's that went down that year.
