Nice spot!! Pros and cons to a backyard slip. We love the marina feeling, pools, bar on site, and tons of activities for the kids. When there is inclement weather we just go up to the bar and still feel like we are on vacation.
@F1100 funny you posted that, I have spent the better part of today watching this guy, BoatBeachesandBar, youtube channel and he is Lake Simcoe. What a beautiful place to boat.
one dock 200ft x 8ft wide, gas, diesel, coke machine, ice. My boat is taking picture. these docks come out the first of November then back in mid May. The river pool I'm in goes up and down during winter months, sometimes 30 ft. slip fees $19 per ft. The nearest nice marina is 2 hours away. and @handy this is my pool.
Here is a pic of my marina, South River Marina. You see the 4 piers in a row, I'm on the last one on the right with the stern facing the open water. You can also see our floating swimming pool. In the small picture you can see a zoomed out view & see that the open water is really a small lake area. At high tide, I go out the back way, which is following the water to the right. During normal times, I go under the roadway show to the left, there is a little bridge there. It is no more than 20ft wide and at times I make it under with maybe an inch to spare. Can be intimidating for those that first do it.
I see him anchored out on the Rhode River several times a year so it is probable that he may stay right on the other side of the peninsula at South River Marina. Cool guy still takes the time to talk and take pictures with us.
The Greaseman puts fuel in my boat! He is actually at Selby bay marina, just under the bridge and two marinas over. Very nice guy. Funny hearing the voice at the fuel dock!
Gananqoque Municipal Marina: new docks - super wide main and fingers with about10 feet between boats with a 12 foot beam - fenders down, facing west down the St. Lawrence in the 1000 Islands at the gateway to lake Ontario, 30 amp, WiFi, fresh water, showers (free), laundry, pump out , no gas :-( parking for one car, restaurants and shops easy walking distance.
WOW, totally amazing video. Thanks for sharing - good sound track too, the Admiral still has some moves left!!!!~ LOL Huge breakwater! Love the houses on the cliff.... but I think I'd sleep with one eye open and a seismograph on the night table LOL. If everyone wanted to leave at once.......
Yes, a great video by Robbie Moore. My dock is on screen in the overhead shot, for about half a second a 02:30 in the upper right of the picture.
In this vintage film at 01:30 you can see the surf break "Killer Dana" considered one of the best on the West Coast. It was destroyed by the construction of the harbor breakwater in 1969.
