Yes we are very pleased with her so far. There was a leak in the tilt/trim, that was fixed Friday and the last coat goes on today . The new zinks are in place and the guy that buffed her is going to go over it one more time. They are working on freeing the sea cocks today that are stuck open and the new radio was put in last week. We have 2 places that need attention on the deck from something being dropped that cracked the fiberglass next to the captains seat and she should be good as new.
We have learned a lot from this site and are so thankful to everyone for all of the information that you all share.
Sherri, do you know of any nice marinas up there that have transient slips? Near restaurants, etc? Thanks!

NIO has a few and the Mad Beach fish house is awesome. Tierra Verde is new and has the Island Grill that is opening there soon but I do not know what the actual open date is. they are currently just down the road and their food is awesome as well. Blind Pass Marina may have a few transient spots, not as nice docks but they have Sea Haggs Bar and Grill that has great food and is close to the beaches
Sherri, we are driving up there Saturday to check out the marinas. Thanks!!
Awesome, you might also check out the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. they are downtown and there is so much to do and see around there. If you make it into downtown you should try Frescos for lunch.
Shirley is the owner there and a Very nice lady. NIO stands for "Not in Oklahoma" she has that true southern accent. and the beach across the road is awesome.
You should also look at the Marina at Dunedin which is not to far north of St. Pete- very well protected and a quiet area and nice down town, stayed there a week last summer and very reasonable!
I don't remember what we paid but my wife still brags on what we spent for the week...I think they even knocked off a day or two as the dockmaster felt sorry for us because of the rain.....really nice folks but the pump out did not work!
Sherri, pick us up as you are taking your maiden voyage
I am a bit upset that the boat is not ready. I guess when it comes to recommending a boat yard for service the one we are using will not be on the list. grrrrrr
Hey Steve how good was your boating today ? ..torrential rains and lightening, with a tropical depression headed your way and ads in the newspapers for storm shutters, plywood, bottled water and canned beans. OH, wait - it"s hurricane season...that outta be fun!
We boat until November. The water is swimmable until mid October. It's great to enjoy the change of seasons and no crowds in our favorite spots. No doubt we do wish the season was longer... I was down in FL last week playing in a golf tournament and I darn near melted. This Viking blood is not meant to be in that climate... Good luck as you Floridians enter prime time boating season in a couple months.
Mother nature needs to play nice.... I would like to go for a cruise and catch a sunset. So far we are just having little picnics on her waiting for the weather to be nice enough for us to go out. I ordered our favorite wine and it came in last week. It is chilled and waiting for us.
