Again, really look at the sailrite videos on this. They show how to bind this material. I bought the binding, high stick double sided tape and snaps from sailrite along with the binding attachment for the sewing machine. i am happy to share what I learned in doing this for those who want to do it. I see they have this material on that eBay store for $29.95 per foot delivered.
@Dream_Inn who did you use for your carpet locally?
I used Creations by Taylor. They did a really good job and the price was very reasonable. Several on my dock got new carpet thru them in the last couple years and it's holding up nicely (it has the grey backing). There is one spot I wished they had made the piece about a half inch longer, but they were able to get the snaps in and it works. (snaps are like on the edge of the binding) But I know if I had any issues, the would take care of it. I've also had them do repairs for my vinyl seats that I've been happy with, as well as canvas.
Well I tried that got everything cut when I went to sew the binding on it was not as easy as it looked so I took it to a local canvas guy he charged me 100 to sew the bindings on haven’t put it in the boat yet
