Any interest in my 310?  I am itching to move up to 35-36?  I keep it on the upper bay.
Is there a link to a listing somewhere?
no, not yet.  I plan to do this this spring once I get it unwrapped and cleaned up for the season.

I agree with rasbury, motor needs compression test and leak down test, drive needs presser test and sample of lube.

You hit it exactly!  Don't skip any one of those mentioned!  leak down is just, if not more, important as compression.

Don't forget the boat was pretty slow... WOT should be more like 38/40..   "The boat only made it to 29 MPh as measured by GPS. It topped out at 4200 rpm per the "

To me that's a huge red flag as well..

My guess is that the boat needs repropped. Hitting 4200 RPM is rather slow for that engine.

I did see that and am considering reaching out to them. My wife hates the interior fabric pattern on the earlier 270 models which the 06 didn't have.
I have a 2003 and also hated the pattern on the interior but we're talking about cushions than can easily be replaced. Take a look at mine now. Looks like the newer models.

The surveyor believed the engine is in "safe" mode due to the code and only performing at 80-90%. How would I know if it needs to be regrouped? Here are photos of the propsn

You need to get that code resolved and checked our- 3 grand for an out drive and what, 10 grand for a motor - that's what your rollin the dice on knowing there is an issue. I think my po thought there were more issues with the boat than there were- you have a great price and maybe a great boat just check it out!

Those props will clean, try toilet bowl cleaner. That mean green will not cut it. The code probably will have to be solved by dealer.

The drive is fairly new to the boat. Check the oil and pressure test. A mix of muriatic acid and water sprayed on those props will shine them right up. I don't know much about Volvo's and their safe mode.

On the transom, there is only a speedometer the transducer is actually flush with the bottom of the hull. I will send you a picture when I get down there later this week.

I did check the oil in the outdrive, it was real clean, no sign of water intrusion. Also at proper level. I will clean those props before launching. Some others at mentioned a compression test. I have a call in to a few mechanics and am waiting to hear back. The marina where it has been since last July did a compression test on it as the owner complained it was slow to get on plane. It came back high in a few on the cylinders. They checked it with a camera and noticed carbon buildup and ran an engine cleaner directly through it. Also the bottom had a lot of growth and they cleaned it off. They also replaced a tensioner for the belt at that time.

It occurred to me that the loss in speed and max rpm could also be related to us having the camper top on with all the isenglass closed. Has anyone noticed a damper to performance with the camper top on?

Yes but only a 2 mph less due to drag

Would not have that drastic of an effect.

I'm having a mechanic come out next week, found a guy for $75 an hour that covers him and a helper. He's going to diagnose and make the necessary repairs for the codes and alternator. I've already removed and cleaned the vinyl.  A friend of mine who details boats for marine max taught me a trick to get the really stained in mildew out. Acetone and magic eraser. I found it worked best using plenty of acetone in small sections until the stain came out and then immediately dry with a clean towel. I thought they were going to need to be re-upholstered,  so that saved a bit there.

Here's some pictures for now, I pulled the carpet out to steam clean it. May not even put it back in, still not sure how I feel about carpet on the topside. The floors under need a good cleaning. The photo was taken through the isenglass, so that's real clear. Still got some Novus to at least clean the front windshield real good.

Got fenders, Fender racks, transom latch, horn, and some other goodies on the way. I'll be pulling and cleaning props next week, so I'll post what's on there and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to see if I need to get new props. She's getting a full wash and wax next week too.

Looks good, congrats! Did you do all of the vinyl cleaning with acetone and a magic eraser? Or did you use something else too? They look great! I'd like to get mine to look that good. Congrats again and welcome.
