    @YYZRC yes, losing the buttons was a compromise I made.  The Axiom Pro with buttons was too big, and I couldn't stomach the price tag ($2800 each).  I still can't believe I got both Axioms for only $1500.  

    @Glenny I have a couple of those YDTA-01 units, but never finished installing them.

    I guess West Marine was clearing shelf space for the newer Axiom+ systems, which have slightly brighter screens and slightly faster processors.  Without that crazy discount, I would not have done this upgrade.  

    Here's a cool trick available on the Axiom product family:  you can install your own image for the splash screen.  When the system is booting up, it shows the photo from my forum profile!

    Yea I have a newer 12” Axiom and noticed your pic. Will absolutely be looking in to adding a pic of the boat like you did!

    You can also use a custom background pic for the home screen.  I need to make one with a dark background.

    I guess that is the next thing to do on the 270 for accurate info. I don't even look at my gages other than fuel and that's a question mark...
