Kidde fire extinguisher recall

When i called Kiddie about mine they said it was OK. Came with the boat, I assume Rinker put it there in 2003.

Might want to look at replacing them since they are almost 15 years old.

The web site told me that too initially as did the guy on the phone. Until I pushed that these matched exactly what they were saying. Then it was "yes, they are covered".

first time I called they told me that only one of my four were under recall, called back after reviewing their website and turns out 3 of 4 are recalled. Make sure to triple check!

I just received a phone call from Kiddie. They said that they needed to verify my address because there was a mixup with a lot of orders. I guess that’s why I never received my 2 red extinguishers, but I did receive the white one for the boat? (ordered in November)They said I should see them in 15-20 days.

Just got the first 2 out of 5 being replaced.

Man, I got both of mine in 4 days after filing. White, very nice compared to the older ones. They're $20 at Home Depot too - I might get 1 more for each vehicle.

It took about a month.  But I suspect they were back ordered.

I used the on-line recall for 3 additional units.  Got 1 so far.  Not the most consistent.  But then they have to be swamped.

So I've had 5 claims, got 5 replacements, and sent back 5 old extinguishers.  I get home last night and there is a box from Kidde with number 6.  So I call Kidde and say I got one too many extinguishers.  Their response was "just keep it".  Guess the cost of shipping is higher than the value of the extinguishers.

Ditto.  I gave one to a friend.  It's one less eventual sale for their competitors.

I got an extra red too in between getting the 2 reds I asked for and 2 whites. Spare in the garage, should have one there anyway!

OK, I like a white and a couple reds, but it depends on what I'm having as my entree.
