Trying to get input on a FV 280 single motor.

I would like diesels for the simplicity, lower RPMs and longer engine life.

Agree LaRae here. I’ve yet to see a thread start out, “thinking about changing my Rinker from gas to diesel, what are the pros and cons?” but every question about a gas motor turns in to that.

CableGreg hit both Ras and I. I’m fine with it, I stand by my comment with what this turned in to  and I was off topic along with half of the thread. FWIW, I did take Ras comment as an actual response to the topic, not off.

My 07 280 with a single 6.2 does fine. Yeah I would like the redundancy of two engines for the just in case situation but she does fine

it really boils down to your expectations.....where you boat and how quick you need to get there and let's don't forget, how deep your pockets are!

I found that anywhere between 27 and 30 was the nice spot on my 270.. I'm not sure I'll ever take it on a long trip again, it was fun to do it once...

I got my off-topic for posting the refrigerant used on a refrigerant thread where the LPF error was flashing due to low refrigerant. Oh well... I'm going to tag this post offtopic myself!
