Well, this is my back yard. It is still coming down pretty good (about 2 more inches since I took this around noon. Not sure the boat is going in on Friday! I may go down and check on it since this stuff is heavy. It just adds weight on the lift that isn't needed. I'm still hopeful it'll melt quick!
We are facing some flakes in Chicagoland as well tomorrow and cold temps. Come heII or high water I'm launching on Saturday. Looking at high of 40 degree high temp and lows in the upper 20's low 30's.
4 to 6 for my hometown today (I'm in VT on the side of a ski slope right now eating lunch haha)... and yes, I heard blizzard for Saturday for NYC/LI/CT
just wondering. If temps are dropping into the 20's at night still...is there any risk to freezing if I do launch this weekend? Daytime temps are mid 30's to low 40's and next week they are forecasting mid 50's.

Is it low 20's? I'd think it would only be hitting those low temps for a few hours before dawn. If it's sitting in the water, you should be fine. Check water temps as well.
well, I think it might be time for a little snow boating party this Saturday! My boat is completely unwinterized & it's April!! For some reason, they are calling for 3-5 inches of snow this Saturday. I think it's a perfect time to crank the heat up on the boat and have a party while it snows!!! There are at least two other boats on my dock that are uncovered as well, so maybe they'll be up for it as well.
How bout you @LaRea ? I know you're in too. I could see Diane dancing it up (maybe in your boat, not on the bow )
Ditto! Early this morning, weather.com was predicting 8-12 inches here, which is absolute nonsense. Now they are predicting 5-8 ... as if anything's going to stick after 65 degrees the day before. But I can definitely see us hanging out on the boat all day!
The seven inches from earlier this week finally melted in the rain today. It looks like more to come Friday and Saturday in the NW hills of CT. Another 6+ inches. Glad i didn't unwrap the boat this week. So far behind on work to be done. Tentative launch date is 4/16...

We were just in Missouri to see family and got 5 inches of snow over Easter. All I packed were deck shoes. Not the best for snow.

Lake Michigan water temp appears to be 39 / 40 degrees.
