I don't know what Rinker was thinking with those fabrics they used...same for my 05- looks like something out of the 50's or the back of your van with the shag carpeting!
Fabric patterns are likely based on saving $$ by buying what is available. Best to stick to earthy tones, full color (no pattern). Might be boring, but will not outdate. Add pillows with patterns to liven it up, which are easily replaced.
Vinyl is hot sweaty and slippery to sleep on. Fabric is cooler easy to work with.
We made a pattern of the v-berth and having a fitted thick quilted cover made out of fabric that is almost like a mattress pad for when we use it for sleeping but easy to roll up snd store. We put the fitted sheet on top of the cover.
how hard was the removal of the old carpet? I called a company about having flooring like that installed, and they quoted me$30/sq ft, for removal/installation. That would be over $1500, and doesn't include the new floor. Seemed like a lot of labor cost to me? thoughts?
Looks nice my carpet is looking naraly, Did you glue it or just lay it in there? and how much for that sea deck?
It's just laying there for now. Once I pull up the carpet, I'll glue it down with the PSA backing it came with. It looks like seadek but I ordered a 4x9 ft sample direct from a EVA foam manufacturer in China. $30 for the sheet and $40 for shipping. I wanted to compare to seadek and others and seems to be the same.
Go to www.morevafoam.com and click on the eva sheet link. I requested a 4x9 sample with 4mm bottom in black and 3mm top in brown with textured brushed surface, teak grooves cut length wise. Also add the 3M pressure sensitive adhesive for easy install. Should be $27-$30.
@dazeoff that looks awsome. did the flooring come already with the teak lines in it or did you have to cut them? thanks interested in doing my flooring
