What other hobby you guys do. I flew RC helicopters for 10 years and now I am into drones.

    I love over tinkering with vintage cars, currently have a 71 Karmann Ghia. I was big into RC but haven't flown anything in almost a year. I do take out the helicopters once in a while and fly in my yard along with the smaller park flyers.

    Medically I've been forced to quit parachuting, downhill and water skiing and my favorite contact sports....but, thank God, at least there's still scuba diving! :-)

    Too many hobbies for me. Winter time I mountaineer and snowboard.  My biggest passion is mountain biking which is an all season sport for me.  I started racing cross country when I was 15. Moved on to semi-pro downhill in my 20s. I had kids and didn't have time for racing any longer.  So now I ride whenever I can, usually twice a week.  I have 8 bikes that allow me to ride no matter where I am or the weather. Most summer trips you can always recognize my boat as it has a beach bike lashed to the bow rail. Last year I did a great 22 mile circumnavigation of Block Island. I hit the tides wrong and in a few areas I was riding in a couple feet of water.

    Fortunately for me, I still have aviation as a hobby, even though it's my career. Aside from that, it's drag racing. I love love love drag racing. I have a 69 Mustang that I drive 7000-10,000 miles per year on the street, and on the weekends I swap the wheels and tires and hit the strip. I normally run the 7.0 index, but hit up a few different events when able. The car has been 9.62@140 on pump gas, and driven weekly. I'd post up some pics, but for some reason my photobucket links don't work on this forum, and this forum only.

    Here is a picture of my drone.
    it has a GPS, compass, accelometer, gyro,atmospheric pressure temperature sensor,1080 video camera on a gimbal system.
    3 different flight modes 
    1- video mode where it will hold it position whiteout any input from the transmitter
    2- stability mode that when flying around it is very stable
    3- agility mode for acrobatic (loops rolls, flips.)
    4- it also have a return home mode that if you loose site of it will come back to it original take off
    it power by 11.1 volts Lipo batteries 
    flight time depends on wich mode 10 minutes average.

    @frenchship, that is fantastic. All of the high-end real estate firms are using them and I just saw a TV program where a security company was testing them for day and night use. The night security drones had infrared and night vision options. REALLY cool! Thank you for the pictures and information.

    Have you taken air video of frenchship yet?

    Since Frenchship and the marina is so close to the Canadian parlement not even 1 km I am not allowed to fly there. But I know I will eventually break the rule for at least 1 minute or two at low altitude then I will posted it  ;) or maybe I will wait until I am at anchor in a bay but again I will be to close to prime minister house, will see.

    Sad to say I sold my 71 Ghia but VERY happy with my new toy. 1956 Austin Healey 100-4 with a Chevy 350 transplant

    @aero...now I HAVE to find a picture somewhere..... I had an Austin Healey 3000 (3000cc engine) and we swapped it out for a 327. I hope I kept the pictures. You had better be careful with that car. I dam near killed myself a couple of times with mine. I finally swapped it and some cash for a XKE with a SK supercharger - one of the fastest cars I was ever in. Too funny the parallels!

    I was given a tour of Nurburing race track (German) in 1965. I was driven by a Mercedes Benz factory race driver in one of their prototypes. Mercedes has its own race track but Nurburing was seen by all as a very challenging track and therefore a great engineering test for vehicles.

     At that point vehicle speeds has increased to the point where the track was becoming dangerous. In fact Jackie Stewart and other drivers boycotted it, I think in '70 or '71 for fear of getting killed - like they had a Spa earlier.

    At any rate I can still remember screaming down Hohenrain (the green ****) straight away in that Mercedes Benz flat out. Yes, there is boating and...........
