Leak Question 2001 340 Fiesta Vee

    LEAK FOUND!!!!  Well fingers crossed.  Marina pulled the boat today to change props, inspect leak, and service generator.  After boat sat a few hours, they took a hose to the inside of the boat and pumped water into the area where I thought water was coming from.  Seems to be a cracked through hull.  I believe it was bumped or hit on the trailer when it was transported from NC to my lake.  But the through hull currently sits on the bunk of the trailer.... so they have to put the boat on blocks to repair.  They said they would contact me when they know more.  Will keep yall posted, and I will be back in town to double check their work Saturday.

    You will love those 20P Hill Marine props. Almost zero drive trim needed and SO much quieter on my 342.

    +++++++ on that. I had 5 guys, full fuel tanks, full water tank and got on plane in 6 seconds. Oh and diesel weighs more than gas according to @raybo3 LOL

    We learn from others, never heard of a through hull, cracking by putting the boat  on the trailer. Glad you found the problem.

    Fuel weight Calculator. 1 US gallon of gasoline weighs 6.3 lbs. 1 US gallon of diesel fuel weighs 7.15 lbs................. Just say'n.........LOL

    I have the Hill Marine props as well and they are fantastic!  My boat pops out of the hole like a 20' ski boat!  (hmmm, I never thought about skiing behind it, might have to try it this summer).

    Oh, and that is great they found the leak!!!! :)

    I know this is off topic but:-
    Diesel is 11 to 12% heavier but also contains 11 to 12% more energy per gallon.

    Where can I find the pin that holds the trim tab actuator on to the boat. I broke it.... I decided to play with it out of water and snap it went.

    I think your actuator is on backwards in the pic, how is the hose going to hook up once the pin is in?

    Definitely not backwards.  The hose hooks up to the top. You can see the nipple that's clean.

    When the pin is in the nipple is nowhere near the boat. Still a good couple inches out.

    @randy56, that is exactly what I did on one of my Lenco tabs, 1/4" SS bolt, nylock nut. Worked perfectly. In fact I did the other one that way too even tho it didn't need it. I just like symmetry!

    Seems that way. Boat hasn't been back in the water yet. Waiting for a good detail and some new blue underwater led lights but I'm confident it's fixed.  I took a hose to the inside of the boat and put water all where we expected water was coming in through and it was a steady drip if not stream coming out.

    Tab fixed. Cost less than $1. Did the same to the other side to match.  Also the actuator itself just turns. So I rotated it so the nipple was facing out. Added fluid, connected hoses, and she's working.

    Good news. So was the actuator originally on backwards or it spun when the pin and hose was removed?

    It was on there correctly it had just spun between the time it broke and when I took the photo. Yes stainless steel was used on all Hardware.
