Re: Radio replacement
Ras, please take this as good advice, and not me making fun of you, or anything of that sort. I've been on this forum for years, and watched you attempt many many different "do it yourself" things. The stereo is a perfect example of something that you should just pay a professional to install. If it truly is only the head unit, and not a re-wire of everything, just buy a stereo at a qualified shop (not Amazon) and pay them to install it. You not only get a quality install, you also get a lifetime warranty on that install. It WON'T be that expensive for just a deck. You won't be sorry

Re: Mercury Smartcraft Connect
@rasbury actually never go on long runs. 3-5 miles one way from dock is it. But I feel so much better knowing true engine temps (156 VV vs. 170-190 analog gages).

Re: Mercury Smartcraft Connect
I felt I gained a lot with VV. Analog gages are notoriously inaccurate. I got reliable rpm and engine temps, probably the 2 most important for me plus real time gallons burned per hour for a sense of best rpm for efficiency.

Hydraulic Steering (390/400)?
Does the 390/400 come with hydraulic helm with the Merc sterndrives? I don’t mean the hydraulic assist which all sterndrives have. I am referring to a hydraulic helm.

Re: Hot water and water heater
Definitely check the little screen on the faucet output. I chased a weak faucet on my RV, which ended up being a .79 cent screen that was clogged

Re: Bimini top poles bent
It won't ever be as strong as original when you heat it up and bend it. Find an upholstery shop to replicate the poles. It won't hurt NEAR as bad as new upholstery for the bimini.

Re: Hot water and water heater
Unscrew and check the screen on the faucet, it could be clogged.

Re: Hot water and water heater
If your water heater is rotted out inside then yes, the raw water circulating will pressurize your water system and it could back flow to the cold side of a faucet.

Re: Fuel filters and such
I thought the same thing but was told they are not approved for inboard engines just outboards.
