Re: Underpowered boats
Yes, likely Arneson. Mercury made surface drives for a while too. Even on "conventional" drives big (tall) props make a huge difference in getting out of the hole. Back in the early 90s I beat an Emerson Fittipaldi with twin built 502s with my Rinker 190 390 HP Bravo I on a dare match between two bridges. By the time he had gotten onto plane my Rinker was doing 70 MPH. He never came close. Longer race and he would have won. Big waves and he would have won. But I wouldn't have raced him under those conditions. He may have been smart enough to buy that boat but not smart enough to do the math on how long it would take him to get going over that distance with those props. He kept his pink slip - I am a merciful guy, particularly when the other guy starts crying - but it cost him a $hitload of $$$$$ buying our beer, shooters and hors d'oeuvres that night at a waterfront bar. :-)

A new and easy test for the horror of Covid-19 is doing the rounds and it's simple, quick and positive (or negative if you see what I mean).
Take a glass and pour a decent sized shot of your favorite whisky into it and then see if you can smell it. If you can, then you are halfway there.
Then drink it. If you can taste it then it is reasonable to assume you are currently free of the virus because the loss of the sense of smell and taste is a common symptom.
I tested myself 7 times last night and was virus free every time.
Thank goodness.
I will have to test myself again today because I have developed a throbbing headache which can also be one of the symptoms.
I'll report my results later.

Small leak of water in our bedroom , any ideas?
We just bough a month ago this boat and as any boat of that many years there is always little things that comes up (hoping they are all little ) We noticed the rug in our bed room, small spot was wet and dried but still a small wet spot bottom right of this picture in front of the cabinet. As there is a sink in the cabinet with water coming in through pipes ,our only thought is may be a leak there. Anyone ever had this situation .

Re: Installation notes: ProMariner ProIsoCharge battery isolator
Adding to this. I used a step bit to drill out the cable ends and it worked brilliantly.

Re: Pic Of The Day
These were taken last night on my old home lake in Northern Ontario. My nephews brand new Pontoon boat. That's my Dad who I haven't seen since he had a double bypass back in January. Cases here are low so we decided to take a chance on a visit, staying apart as well as we can. It's a beautiful area except for the 6 months of mosquitos and 8 months of snow.
