Re: Rinker 2008 350 Getting on plane
I bit the bullet and got the hills Marine 4 x 4 20 pitch $1400 propellers for my 2007 Rinker 350. It has made a world of difference on how fast I get up on plane. At wide open throttle as best as I can tell I’ve only lost perhaps 1 mile an hour of top end speed. Prior propellers were three bladed aluminum 21 pitch. Merely changing material from aluminum to steal made it to huge difference anyway.JimGuy341 said:Hill Marine 4x4 props. 20p.
I had the same set up as you. Twin 350 mpi w/ B3 3x3 props. Switched to Hill this season. Money well spent.

Re: Transom assemblies and engine room makeover
BTW, anybody got a good source for Bravo 3 SeaCore digital transom assemblies? One source quoted me $6300 delivered to Virginia, which seems pretty good. @Alswagg want to give me a quote?

Re: Pic Of The Day
I snapped this photo over the summer near Leonardtown MD. There's a beautiful anchorage a few hundred yards past the town's public pier. We ate lunch in town, then slept on the hook and woke up to this.
To fully appreciate it, see it on a big computer screen. Right click the image and choose "open image in new tab".
Canon Rebel T7, 55-250mm lens, no special settings but I converted it to grayscale and tweaked it a little in GIMP.

Re: Transom assemblies and engine room makeover
No complaints here. Transom assembly years are like dog years. Who has transom assemblies with 13 years/800 hours and no leaks? Nobody. On my 342 it was eight seasons. It's the price of going fast.
I have a new theory on boat maintenance. If you want to make ANYTHING easier, start by removing the engines. Holy smokes -- I love it! I think I might just leave them out.
Shown below is Phase 1: engines and transoms out, guts out, first pass with Purple Power and a brush. What a cathartic experience. The starboard deck is ready for rebuild with major changes. I'm totally reconfiguring and rewiring. Stay tuned for details. Painting starts this week.
