Re: Rinker 280 Sold and gone 😔 NEW BOAT! 😁
I don't think I shared the name yet? Ilaria.
The photo above of the champagne and my wife is her writing the name in the logbook after the naming ceremony.

Re: Meet the new La Rea!
I won't enjoy my next step in prepping for long-distance cruising, but it's gotta happen: I'm selling The Beast. 2017 Audi RS7 Performance with a 605-HP twin turbo V8 and man does that car move! But like so many other things, I don't want to store it. We're also having a giant moving sale this weekend. Everything Must Go!

Re: Rinker 280 Sold and gone 😔 NEW BOAT! 😁
It's like skinning an animal 😂. My wife removed all the panels and also the carpet that was glued down in the mid berth. This time we get to work on things in our shop rather than at the dock since the boats home now. I'll get more pictures of the demolition and also after pictures.
We also reupholstered the headboards in both rooms.

Eliminated all gauges filled the holes and painted. Cleaned up the wiring in the helm and changed breakers to proper amps according to the new equipment.
Brown in steering wheel I used wrap to cover. Little more durable then paint with your hands on it all the time.
Fuel Gauges on axiom reads off of oceanic NMEA sensors
Out drives I used yacht devices rudder sensors and thanks to Andrew at tech support there.

NMEA I divided up the power so at anchor the axiom and GPS stay powered up. Once the key is on engines (Volvo), fuel and drives power up and feed info.
Phone charger where old Navi was.
New shifters plus cables and that was a good call as I always felt like I was fighting the boat. After launch to my slip there was a big difference shifting with ease. (Sloppy shifters combined with stiff cables not fun)
Epoxied old holes from Speedo tube and brackets mounted to back of transom. Resealed platform to boat, supports to transom and trim tabs.
Lots Of threads and topics about gauges not working and people wanting to redo I hope this helps anyone with their project.

Re: Pic Of The Day
We had mother's day at the dock. What a beautiful day it was. Light winds and 75 degrees.

Re: Live de Life on the Great Loop
Well, I gotta say it was sure nice meeting up with Graham and Socha this past weekend as they made a stop thru Annapolis. Got to have a drink on the boat (what a great boat! Love the nice size bridge area) and then out for dinner and drinks at Pusser's right on ego alley. Definitely some great people and the admiral is a even more excited about longer cruises! She was even able to help out yesterday getting them reloaded with some groceries and drinks.
Was really cool sitting on their boat and all of a sudden Socha turns her head and knows the boat coming right thru ego alley. It was friends on another looper. Amazing how many loopers there are out there!
Good luck @Grahamu and hope you have a great finish to your loop and crossing your wake!
