Re: Pic Of The Day

I miss flying the awesome airplanes of corporate but I sure don’t miss the schedule, or lack thereof, and I sure like my 15% direct contribution into my retirement that I get now.

i see you also raise pigs.  This 250 lbs boy was supposed to be a mini pig.  If I cover him and his feeding area with scraps so it takes him half an hour to find all his food so he will leave the dogs food alone long enough for them to eat
Oh we have pigs.

Fix for galley sink faucet drip on 342 EC

The galley sink faucet on my 342 EC was hard to completely turn off so it did not drip. I could have replaced the washers on the valve stem, but I was looking for a better solution and found new ceramic disk cartridge valves from Ambassador Marine. They fit and worked awesome. The new design does not require cranking on the handle to shut the water off. The mechanism in these cartridges have internal parts and require almost no force to turn on or off… and they don’t drip and wake me up in the middle of the night.

I called Ambassador Marine and Andrew was a huge help. He did not think they were the original manufacturer of the faucet but for $9.00 each I decided to try the valves and they fit and worked perfect. The only problem was the old handle and screws did not fit the new cartridge valve. Andrew helped me get the part numbers for the matching Trinidad handles, screws and blue/red caps. Great service from Ambassador Marine!  Some of the parts are not available to order on the website so call directly.

It is confusing because they have two websites... One lists all their products: https://www.ambassadormarine.com/ and the other is used to order products & parts: http://ambassadorfaucets.com/

I made a YouTube video of the repair: https://youtu.be/T5Sm2LyVvOE

Link to faucet drawing PDF with a parts list: https://downloads.ambassador-amc.com/parts/marine/133-/133-0202-xx_RevB.pdf

Here are the parts I used:

  • E-507176N – Ceramic disk cartridge for Cold
  • E-507175N – Ceramic disk cartridge for Hot
  • E-029124 – Trinidad handle x2
  • E-008154 – Screw x2
  • E-028109H – Red cap
  • E-028109C – Blue cap

Cool indeed, and awesome that anybody could afford that hobby plus boats AND race cars!

For me, with no kids and Virginia weather ... I have another 8-9 weeks of boating.  The Admiral will insist on hauling out by Thanksgiving.  I'll resist briefly, and then I'll conclude that she's right.
There is nothing cheap about horses, or pigs, that’s for sure, but my boat costs a little less to keep going than most of you. Don’t forget the dirtbikes! I’ve got a fun day of riding planned for tomorrow.

Honestly, she’s funding most of the horses herself right now. She works at the ranch every day to pay for it. She’s been pretty self sustaining with her pigs too, with her winnings. She works hard.
