Re: Twitter: Spectacular meltdown in progress, thoughts?
I agree David. These politicians are not rock stars they are supposed to Covent the constitution and do what is ight for the country. Seems most are in it for themselves- and social media's have given them a new platform to do it. There should again be truth requirements, some sort of accountability for what is thrown out in the world. Would help with the trust factor. My main interest in social media is boats and boobies but not always in that order. The rest is no more than entertainment from politicians. Those politicians with the most noise are certainly not the ones I trust for facts. I like results that help all of us. A rising tide should always float all the boats.

Re: Rinker 350/360 2007+ Random Topics
Quiet on here these days.

I rebuilt both transom assemblies with new stainless steering pins and replaced the cracked gimbal ring. Will sell them in the spring.

Also got some new stickers as @Dream_Inn had me all jealous.

Re: Twitter: Spectacular meltdown in progress, thoughts?
Why does every conversation have to go back to politics? I swear it seems like as soon as people..not just here...everywhere run out of facts to discuss or opinions on the topic it gets shifted to politics. It is like a playground argument that just degrades into your momma insults. Politics has risen to an unhealthy center of attention for way too many people. It has almost taken on the persona of a religion. That is sad. A little scary but mostly sad. Growing up in the DC area it is always in our face. On every news station, paper.. you name it. There used to be a time when you went more that 250 miles away there was no mention of it unless a politician got caught doing something illegal and was arrested. All these "facts" that get tossed out by both sides are potentially nothing more than propaganda. Please consider that before you make any judgement calls. When you consider how many "facts or truths" seem to disappear when a judge requires hard proof it should cause you to be a little cynical of what you hear online.
Getting back to the topic of twitter. I really hope he causes it to implode. I hope most all social media implodes. I truly believe that when social scientists study this generation years from now they will point to the advent of social media as the root cause of a lot of the issues we are dealing with. I am actually a fan of Elon. Maybe not as a person but a fan of what he has accomplished. There aren't many companies or people you can say that they actually changed or created an industry. I think he is doing that with electric. Others will make it better, but he is pushing the evolution faster than it would on its own. I would own a Tesla. Not a truck though. Those things are hideous. Ask yourself why would he want Twitter. It isn't about free speech. That is going to cost him money not make it. The EU is threatening to fine him and restrict its use if he doesn't abide by their hate speech rules. They will. Just ask Facebook who is paying tens of millions, Apple who has paid due to not playing nicely, Microsoft... i can go on. Apple is threatening to pull twitter from the apple store. Why? They don't want to be included in a lawsuit when "not if" he gets sued and loses. That will block the app from 60% of twitters userbase. Not a great business move.
Why would he want twitter? Data and AI. His cars collect and assemble more data on people and our habits while behind the wheel than you can imagine. They use AI to interpret what is going on and build algorithms that learn from input. They get better the more they get fed. The same with social media. It feeds on you and your habits, learns and then spits back at you what it thinks you would be interested in. When you combine the data from both companies it is going to be a game changer. I hear Truth Social is starting up a Rinker thread. Maybe this discussion should get moved there.

Apple has given 1.3 million in political donations in 2022.
Corporate America strategically swaying votes by means of censoring what news stories or what influencers are allowed to have a platform shouldn't come as shock. Having politicians back up this strategic censorship should be even less of a shock when you follow the money.
All though I'm all about banning the pillow guy. If you have evidence of wrong doing release it. Also how does a pillow guy who is a self professed recovered crack addict have the inside scoop on dirty politicians.
The my pillow guys credibility for secret Intel has to be up there with Hunter Bidens credibility as chairman on a Ukrainian board of energy. The only information I'd believe out of either is what crack pipe they prefer.

And now Elon has called out Tim Cook after Apple has threatened to pull the Twitter app from their app store cause Elon refuses to censor the right. Musk has said if Apple pulled the Twitter app then he will create his own cell phone company. Coming from anyone else I'd call it a bluff but Musk would do it just out of principle
