Good game going on right now. I don't think Crosby takes this Ovi rivalry personallyly, they don't play the same style game...i think Malkin is the guy who feels the need to best Ovi.
I want to respect Crosby. I really want to. Nobody can argue with his record or his skills. But every time I watch him, he pulls some kind of di-ck move.
Like today, sitting on the bench and grabbing Oshie's hockey stick. And after holding on until it's blatant and obvious, he grabs it and tries to yank it out of Oshie's hands. Di-ck move.
Or maybe I'm just bitter because they beat the Caps again.
The Caps had an interesting game strategy. For the first 40 minutes, conserve energy and try to keep the game close. Then for the entire third period, Unleash The Fury.
The 3rd was fun to watch, but the strategy failed.
I'd like to give kudos to the Devils players and fans. When Ovi scored #700, the players left the ice and the fans gave him a nice standing O. That's good sportsmanship.
And now, can we all please just get back to playing hockey. Pens v. Caps tomorrow, and both teams lost tonight.
It was fun to see the bout between Malkin (6'3", 195 lbs) and Caps FNG Dillon (6'4" 225 lb). Welcome to the rivalry, Brenden. The ref was unwise to stand in between those monsters.
All the injuries on the D are caching up to the pens. They cant ice a true top 4 D, only 2 top 4 D line players healthy right now. Only having 3 true NHL worthy lines right now isn't helping either. Syd and Malkin are doing well as expected but Jake was leading the team with goals, even with Crosby benched with injuries. Losing jake for the season has left void in the top 3 lines they cant replace.
Go ahead, keep claiming that injuries have left the Pens with nothing. Who has more points than the Pens? Bruins. Lightning. Caps. That's a short list.
Rutherford must be confident Marino and dumo will be back from injury soon, jack Johnson is a 3rd pair d man at best not a top line guy, he's a anchor letang must drag around.
Ths 3 new forwards we have are all great guys to fill in the bottom 6, the alh 4th we've been playing has been getting hammered.
What's up with the Metro? I blinked, and suddenly the Pens lost six in a row, while the Flyers went 6-0 to take over second place. Holy reversal of fortune, Batman.

But test coming against the caps!

If they continue to keep winning at this pace and get all their guys back to run 4 competitive lines i think this playoff run could get interesting.
These pens are starting to play like the 2016 pens.

Great game though. Carl Hagelin torched his old team
