Dont know what's wrong with Holtby but if Kuzy, TJ and Hagelin get hot look out.

The pens took a nap through the first and third periods and still pulled out a win.

But test coming against the caps!

Good game going on right now.  I don't think Crosby takes this Ovi rivalry personallyly,  they don't play the same style game...i think Malkin is the guy who feels the need to best Ovi.

I think we hit the post 4 times and missed the wide open net 4 times. Just couldnt catch a break today.

Pens really had a terrible 3rd.  Im wondering when they will play a complete game

I want to respect Crosby.  I really want to.  Nobody can argue with his record or his skills.  But every time I watch him, he pulls some kind of di-ck move.

Like today, sitting on the bench and grabbing Oshie's hockey stick.  And after holding on until it's blatant and obvious, he grabs it and tries to yank it out of Oshie's hands.  Di-ck move.

Or maybe I'm just bitter because they beat the Caps again.

Guys go after the g.o.a.t. so he goes right back after them.

The Caps had an interesting game strategy.  For the first 40 minutes, conserve energy and try to keep the game close.  Then for the entire third period, Unleash The Fury.

The 3rd was fun to watch, but the strategy failed.

Pens could take 1st pace in metro tonight, kicking the leads 4-0 in the 1st...its a beating

Yeah, the Caps are slumping.  They need Ovi to score #700 and get that monkey off their back.

I agree, just get 700 out of the way and move on.  Caps are definitely in a slump and need to get out of it.

So many pens injuries this season, to be in 1st of the metro, its impressive.

If they continue to keep winning at this pace and get all their guys back to run 4 competitive lines i think this playoff run could get interesting.

These pens are starting to play like the 2016 pens.

I'd like to give kudos to the Devils players and fans.  When Ovi scored #700, the players left the ice and the fans gave him a nice standing O.  That's good sportsmanship.

And now, can we all please just get back to playing hockey.  Pens v. Caps tomorrow, and both teams lost tonight.

Pens have slept through 2 games, I'm sure Sullivan had choice words after the buffalo showing tonight.  Caps might not fair too well tomorrow.

Penguins looked old and slow today. Hahahahhahahaahhahahahahahaah
Great game though. Carl Hagelin torched his old team

That was classic Caps v Pens hockey. Feisty and close.

It was fun to see the bout between Malkin (6'3", 195 lbs) and Caps FNG Dillon (6'4" 225 lb).  Welcome to the rivalry, Brenden.  The ref was unwise to stand in between those monsters.

Eh...Malkin only has an inch and 20 lbs on me!

All the injuries on the D are caching up to the pens.  They cant ice a true top 4 D, only 2 top 4 D line players healthy right now.  Only having 3 true NHL worthy lines right now isn't helping either.  Syd and Malkin are doing well as expected but Jake was leading the team with goals, even with Crosby benched with injuries.  Losing jake for the season has left void in the top 3 lines they cant replace.

    @PickleRick. Too many excuses
  • PickleRickPickleRick Posts: 4,356 ✭✭✭✭✭
Sullivan is riding the top to lines and top d unit too much, they are gassed.  It shows, they are a day and night team from what we saw 2 weeks ago.

    No excuses Rick!!

Lol....well hopefully some players get back soon and we get a rental top 6 winger.  Some fresh legs will go a long way
  • LaReaLaRea Posts: 8,069 mod
Go ahead, keep claiming that injuries have left the Pens with nothing.  Who has more points than the Pens?  Bruins.  Lightning.  Caps.  That's a short list.

    Also, this.

82 games is a lot of rough, especially with an ageing core.  Going to need some juice left in the tank to make a playoff run.

Rutherford must be confident Marino and dumo will be back from injury soon,   jack Johnson is a 3rd pair d man at best not a top line guy, he's a anchor letang must drag around.

Ths 3 new forwards we have are all great
guys to fill in the bottom 6, the alh 4th we've been playing has been getting hammered.

@PickleRick now that Kovalchuk is wearing a Caps sweater, what do you think of him?
  • PickleRickPickleRick Posts: 4,356 ✭✭✭✭✭
I was more upset when Jager wore a caps sweater.

What's up with the Metro?  I blinked, and suddenly the Pens lost six in a row, while the Flyers went 6-0 to take over second place.  Holy reversal of fortune, Batman.

And this week, both teams play the Caps.
