Based on our observations of about 500 pedestrians here in Midland Ontario, the general opinion of our boat is that it's the darndest thing they have ever seen.
We're docked on the seawall right next to a busy sidewalk. Passers-by can't see inside because the windows are tinted, so they don't realize we are watching through a one-way mirror. They point, they stare, they take pictures, they debate in great detail.
Their avid interest is a tribute to the Aussies who designed our boat. It gets a little creepy when they grab our boat's railing to pose for photos, but mostly it's fun to watch. Our favorite was a group of Japanese tourists who we heard say something like "Utsukushī bōto! Kanojo wa La Rea!"
@larea I have been searching endlessly for a bird print shirt. Sure wish you would have asked him where he got it.
If you're serious...check out Hardaddy.com. Pure nylon/rayon so they don't breathe well, shipping is usually a couple of weeks but prices aren't bad, and they have it all.
Been awhile since we've had our Rinker, as many of you know we're now permanently moored in a 40 foot destination model trailer in a campground. But a lot of the same vibes, and hey, since I started the thread I thought it appropriate to share some pics from my wife's 40-19th birthday party this past weekend. Frozen Margaritas and Tacos for about 30 people. Cheers friends!
Ah, yes....but the distinction I'm told is that you're no longer a "teenager" again until 50-13....😉 Although I live by the credo that growing older is mandatory, growing up is not....
This is a picture of the beautiful Canadian summer sky. In the foreground you can see a boat, but don't let it distract you. The sky and the water really do look like this! So crisp and clear that it takes your breath away.
My wife, two dogs, and myself were enjoying an evening anchored in a cove. Three boats rafted-up were motoring along looking for a more suitable location to drop anchor. Meanwhile, another boater was in a bit of a hurry, it seemed. Nice looking boats.
We put down the plasdeck panels today. The outter piece that outlines around the hatches isn't glued down yet. Waiting for all the pieces to dry and then we'll stick that down. So far it was a clean and relatively easy process.
We also removed our upper davit crane that was for putting a dinghy or other stuff up on the hardtop. The pole used to run all the way down to the cockpit floor.
I would definitely recommend this over seadek or any other of the eva foam. This looks much more like real and feels like real.
Yesterday I met this 6-pound, 29-inch northern pike and invited him to the boat for dinner. He was an ill-tempered and athletic fish who did NOT want to come aboard! We grilled him ... the guy running the grill is our friend Eric (a pro French chef). Tasty!
East Grant Island, in the middle of Lake Huron's North Channel. Totally uninhabited except for us and ... Power Rangers Super Megaforce Red Ranger! He's carefully zip-tied to a tree about 15' over the water. Great example of rando Canadian humor ... we almost fell out of the dinghy laughing when we saw it!

Something about this photo says I need a bigger boat 😟
Our Plasdeck for the cockpit arrives this week as well so that will be exciting.
We are bringing his boat back from the San Juans in a couple weeks. This will be my 4th trip around the ocean and over the bar.
