True story. That guy is a buddy of mine. Sean Mackey. His family owns and he runs all the accommodation properties in that area. We worked together for years when I worked in tourism marketing. That's actually Sean that posed in his bath robe.😆
I had the opportunity, to be a fill in on another fishing trip. Knew it was going to be be a good day when party girl started drinking at 7:30 AM. The big ones are Pompano.
They are endangered, I think last year they counted 1100 died, and 400 already this year. There food supply, which is sea grass, and vegetation is diminishing, killed off by yard fertilizer and weed killer. Very rare to see them in the wild anymore. Lucky you. There numbers are very small.

I see them every other day... this one is trying to drink the water off the boat, was just rinsing it off after a run out today in 20+mph winds... lots of them down here, also might be because my canal is 30 ft deep and has a huge area for them to hang out in... always fun to see them!
We see a lot in cereal FL, st johns river/blue springs is a favorite winter spot for them. On the east coast due east of us, Indian River lagoon the fwc is trying to feed them lettuce...136,000 lbs I just heard on the radio today from a aspokesperson fron the save tha manatee group....
