I found a mercruiser issued factory service manual. I when i get the lake tomorrow ill be doing some reading.  It appears my only pick up is via the thru hull for the engine but ill look more closely tomorrow in the sunlight.  I got the pressurized water system done, some stocking of the boat and plenty of scrubbing.  She needs more scrubbing but shes got all shell get before next week.  I've never owned a boat that could fit so many tools. Ill take more pics as i get more cleaned.

The admiral wants to remove all the monkey fir this winter.  That means fairing the walls/celing and resealing all the windows.....im wondering how much some replacement monkey fir or vinyl would run and how would in make it stick?

After a bit of reading the bravo has to pull water for cooling.

You can post the video to YouTube and then just post the link to it here.

beautiful day on the lake.  Not enough power to get on plane. I need to verify 175 to 190 is acceptable operating temp.  Will keep at hull speeds untik i can inspect turbo veins and change fuel filters and air filter.

Also the holding tank smells like 100 year old terds

Is a jacosn(spp?) electric head supposed to hold water between flushes? This one rums dry.

Also these obs electronics are almost useless

The winlass and bow thruster are the greatest invention ever.

    Thanks @aero3113

Looks great! You can do some serious cruising on that boat without having to worry as much about the weather forecast.

Thanks guys. Now that im back at home with Wi-Fi ill try to get her uncluttered and a walk thru video taken.

I got it up to about 21-22 knots thus morning and again this afternoon.  Temps stayed bellow 195/200

Still sub 3000 rpms. I feel like she still has more power there.

Stilll plan on some service work this week before launching this weekend.  Maybe some diesel kleen

ive been busy. I've resealed the leaky windows.  They leaked terribly.

New boost gauge reads 16psi at 2600 rpms.  Was at 23.xx mph, about the fastest ive been on the boat.  Im solo
1/4 tank of water.  Holding tank maybe 1/4 tank.  Fuel half tank.

Tiny tack is back ordered due to China resistors.  This will verify my tach accuracy.

A similar boat, little heavier, the 288 with a 220 hp vm 4.2 test ran @same top speed wot.

My hull marine prop has been ordered since 8/11

    18.25 iirc 16p big cow 4 blade.

I tried a solas 19x16p aluminum and changed it immediately.  Ordered it trying to pick up speed and rpm at the shops recommendation.  Top speed with 2 was maybe 18 mph. Sadly no returns.  So now i have a near 400 buck prop to use as a door stop.

Ron Hill prop installed.  Big cow.  18.75 iirc.  16p

She's supposed to help lift the stern of heavy boats.  Due to design should net me a few rpm over my current prop and plane quicker.  Should also lower my crusing rpm and improve low speed handling.

Rain or shine I'm launching this weekend.  Pending no sever thunder storms from the hurricane barreling towards the Gulf.

I will review further after a good solo run.

After all the high praise you guys gave them om the bravo 3 I figured they were worth a try on my bravo 2.  It's a near 35 lbs prop

Yes, I  have the same, different pitch, on my B2s as well. I shipped one back when I hit something and it came in at almost 40 lbs with weight of box.

  • Handymans342Handymans342 Member Posts: 10,375 ✭✭✭✭✭
