Electronics in, well apart from permanently mounting my transducer inside the hull, i don't want to drill holes in my transom. Im using my ipad for navigation with a Bluetooth Garmin GPS antenna and a Sonarphone WIFI depth sounder it is designed for transom mount but they say you can glue inside the hull, I think if i glue it in behind my current one it should work ok, but ill wait til she is in the water before i mount it.
Thanks guys, it was pretty easy to do, the inlay was a precut kit and the main wood part is a paper backed veneer i got from Amazon, all i did was cut the circle out for the inlay, and cut it to size.
Hmmm, I wonder if I could cut something out of a cheap wood, put veneer in the middle and nice wood around the edges? Got me thinking now. Then I can make it exactly the size I'd want for cockpit area with a slant cut along edge allowing more table and walk area. I'll have to do some looking.
Job im on now is the cabinets in the head, here is what the door looked like;
And here it is so far, new panel made for the bottom i need to take apart the top section where the toilet paper holder was and cut a channel so i can make a new panel for that as well,
im mounting a toilet roll holder on the wall above the sink, still in easy reach but it does not impede the opening of the head. here the holder
And here is the table completed, after 6 coats of varnish and 4 hours of sanding finer and finer grits sandpaper then a wet sanding and a polishing, im happy with the result, i didnt want a new look so the sanding and hand polishing has given it an antique look.
Cabinet door progress, new channels cut in top section where the toilet paper holder was, new panel made and test fitted, i had to repair a split in a cross piece because they split it with screws.
So i had an ipad 3 with a cracked glass, that i just got repaired and i decided to swap that out with the Android tablet i had on the boat, so now i am running 2 Ipads, maybe i should have renamed her iboat!
