I have a decent hydraulic car jack I just used to lift up my deck out back due to a footing that sagged an inch. A 4’ hole well past the frost line, I guess one out of 12 footing to move about 13 years later is not bad.
While replacing my plug wires the other day I noticed a ground stud at the rear of both engines on port side. A while ago I only cleaned the ground studs on the starboard side rear. Good to know that there are 2 ground studs at the rear of each engine.
While running my port engine today a squeal started. I thought it was going to be the circulating pump but it turned out to be the belt. I replaced it with another one that the PO gave me but seemed old and the squeal was still there. I sprayed some belt dressing on the belt and it was as quiet as could be then came back after a few minutes. I’m going to replace the belts on both engines since I don’t know the history. I’ll keep the old ones as spares.
I had a squeal too, it was the alternator. I could have had it rebuilt but an aftermarket replacement was way cheaper. I also had a near-seized pulley bearing as well.
Did you spin all the pulleys and alternator with the belt off?
Well, I think I've waited long enough! I'm planning on uncovering next Friday, May 1st! I'm done tinkering with things in the boat and things around the house!! I'll chill for a couple weekends and enjoy the view in the marina to start with. I'll turn the fridges on later this week and Friday night it will be cold drinks and some steamed Old Bay shrimp off the swim platform!!
i wasn't worried about these heavy seats bouncing open on the water. I am worried about them bouncing open while trailering on our wonderfully maintained state roads.

In Maryland and no mention of blue crab? How long before the blue crab are easy to catch in the icw and other brackish water? Down here i dont remember there being a season on blue crab but i was also probably 14 yrs old the last time i caught/ate fresh crab. Early june wasn't great, the crab pots were lucky to get 1 or 2. By late July and August id have pots full of crabs. Chicken legs were my bait of choice. One leg could last 4 days. I fished a lot every summer at the beach but blue crab was my choice dinner. Toss back the females and keep all males over 6 inches end to end. Get the pot to full boil, a little old bay seasoning and drop in until they turn sunrise orange. Server.
The crabs less tasty inner parts make for a good additon to chum mix.
Crab on the boat is always fun. Just toss the shells over the side. The catfish go crazy over it.
i forgot i had a mooring cover. I spent all last summer cleaning dust off the windshield and interior. The new bimini interferes a bit with the fitting aft of the seats but will still keep dust and morning sun out of the boat. Being garage kept im not worried about rain.
I have blisters to fill with epoxy. Was going to do thay today but with a 60% chance of thunder storms ill wait until tomorrow. Painting starts Monday or Tuesday night. Fingers crossed it's done by next weekend.
She all polished up, ran motors, flip radar over ready to go down the road. Set up to splash on friday then 45 miles to the slip. Nice shake down cruise, cross my fingers for good weather.
Friday evening I brought my boat home and put her in my yard. Saturday I started cleaning her and got her fired up. The admiral decided to have drinks on the boat. Now I need to buff and polish the hull. Going to try some different products and a Flex buffer. I will let everyone know how they work out.

@PickleRick You are right about the crabs. My son loves going out, especially by August. He'll usually use my dinghy and go set a few of those "lift up" crab pots. Definitely some good eating!
It's now looking like rain on Friday I need to at least wait for the cover to dry before I remove it.

House jack. For when you only need to lift one section at a time to remove the rollers for sanding
I think this is rated for 10 tons.
