Started pulling off all the vinyl. Not going to replace it, just go with the solid black look. Hopefully it looks good. This is progress today, but only an hour or two. Blow dryer helped, but some sections are impossible to peel off in big chunks.
Won't get much buffing done this week Greg. Supposed to rain here all week. I haven't even started buffing mine. Every time I have time the weather won't cooperate
Your storage opened up? Are you still at the place in Wyandotte for storage? @JoeStang
Yeah my storage place started to move stuff out this weekend. This is the first year I'm not downriver, since I bought a trailer. The spot in Wyandotte was rack storage, so I kept it inside a more traditional place this winter instead. I would have had it out weeks ago, but they were following orders.
Its been a tiring 2 days. You might notice the silver wheel. That isnt by design, I got a blowout on the expressway bringing it home yesterday. Luckily there was a tire place nearby that mounted a new tire & wheel, and the day wasnt ruined.
@JoeStang all this time you’ve been on the wrong forum. According to your aft decal you have a Rinke not a Rinker and the logo is completely different.
I wasn't gonna go there but aero did, I noticed that emblem as well.
I had caught a curb on my way out of town headed about 35 miles to drop the boat at a mechanic last spring. Thankfully there was a tire shop on the edge of town since I didn't have the right socket with me to remove it. I am about 60' in total length towing and that got really uncomfortable thinking I had to figure out how to maneuver this thing into a parking lot.
I don't know why but towing my boat makes me uncomfortable but anything else I am fine with. I guess I just feel like everyone is watching this "a"**hole tow his boat.
Adding swimplatform speakers to my 232. I bought on Ebay an Alpine CDA-118M head unit and Alpine MC2 Remote Commander. The remote is not working. I am looking for a new remote if anyone has one.

What about a proper heat gun on low setting? That'll get the vinyl off. Solid black will look good. Buff the snot out of it!
@aero3113, you are cracking me up. At this point, you might as well pull the shrink off the boat. That's going to be flapping in the breeze. The only thing that you are keeping off the top is bird poo.

@halifax212 - that's gotta be fake...like all that fake news!! LOL! Just kidding. The weather has been running 10 degrees colder here on the average as well.

Yeah, that 'R' fell off middle of last season and I never got around to replacing it. The letters are stupid expensive, something like $25 a piece? I actually bought it, but never put it on. They are in a very dumb place, right where I have to hang a fender when rafting up, so they get constantly wore on.
I would remove the emblem completely and get a custom "JoeStang" emblem.
Pretty sure my boat is gonna be 100% decal free, except for its name 'Moose Tracks'. This was the best dog I could have ever asked for, and we lost him way too young last year (he was a week from being 10 y/o). I like the clean look of no graphics, and it'll make buffing it out easier, since I wont have to worry about chipping the vinyl.

I dont know, this hair dryer from my wife is a beast. I can barely withstand the heat coming off it on medium, so I wouldnt want to melt the vinyl or hurt the gelcoat with serious heat. Some sections came off in big patches, others in tiny chunks. Doesnt help that I had a decent amount of wear in the vinyl, so it just tears when you get to them.
The previous owner had a window panel made but they sewed in white bungees in the wrong locations. I installed the correct “Stay Put” fasteners in the correct locations. Cut the threads and you can barely tell the old bungees were there. I need to install one female snap in place of the bungee in the bottom pic.
I always peel my old stickers off first. Did the same with my license plate on my vehicles but we don't need those anymore. And yes, they have to be straight
Put 34 gallons in her also (port side). Will do the same for starboard when I get a chance. Have to take advantage of the cheap fuel. I probably could’ve found cheaper but got $1.95.
