    Hey @diggin2day1 - Love your upgraded dash.  Do you happen to have "before" pics?  Just curious how many gauges you eliminated with that VesselView.  Now that I got my new sweet steps in, I'm looking for a new project!

    @dwmackenzie I just wrapped it with a vinyl wrap.  Same as the dash.  Then sprayed it with a satin clear poly to give it a little shine.

    @diggin2day1 I have the 84-864218 harness has ring connectors on one end and I assumed they attach to the fuel sender at the tank and the connector attached to the SmartCraft harness at the helm.  I'm very confused now!

    That's the right part.  It attaches to a plug on top of the engine, not at the helm.  The engine's computer digitizes the signal and sends it out over the SmartCraft network.

    Thanks LaRea!  So the ring terminals are in fact going to the senders on the fuel tanks?

    And I assume I should connect this to the starboard engine since that is primary?

    Another question - not sure where the fuel level senders are on a 330/340; any reason why I can't just tap into the harness somewhere between the sender and the helm?

    Yup, the ring terminals go to the sender.  But I vaguely remember, maybe my senders had potted wires instead of screw terminals, so I had to cut and splice the wires.  In theory, you could do that anywhere in the circuit, if you can find the wires.

    I briefly looked around and couldn't locate the sender wires from the tanks.  Any tips?

    I remember there was a whole topic that @diggin2day1 did on this.  He manufactured it himself.  Maybe he can post the link to it (I can't seem to find it).

    @MissLee2005 the gadget on the left is vesselview.  It has all the gauges digitally.

    If you add this new wire harness to the sender for digital fuel read out, can you also leave the existing wire attached at the sender so the analog gage still works as well??

    I believe @LaRea has said you cannot.

    When I hooked up my smart craft to my Raymarine I thought of hooking up the fuel senders but the cheap analog senders are not accurate and after looking at what it was going to cost to replace the senders with quality ones I opted out. Every time I fill my tanks I enter 160 gallons into my fuel settings and let the smart craft take over. The only thing I have to remember is that my genny pulls from the port tank and the smart craft does not compute that consumsion. I love the system it really shows how one engine can be so different from the other

    That'll work, but it's preferable to keep humans out of the data chain.  We make mistakes now and then.

    @goalie59 I do the same thing.  I've thought about changing the cables several times but never wanted to lose the analog gauges (really just having them still in my dash not work).  Resetting it with full tanks work pretty well.
