  Cant be much of a current there. Those would never last at my yacht club.

  About 3 knots tidal flow. They are 2" steel poles, pretty common way to do up here, float the dock and then lift and drop poles into the dock 3-4" pipe and it slides into the mud. End of season pull with crane, flush out mud and rack. We're tidal here so the docks float up and down on them, last boat club not tidal but docks moved with wakes and river levels. 
  
  These are pretty tall as back in the Sandy/Irene days the level went way up and docks came off so they also have clamps near the top.
  
  Here's today's pic - yesterday's docked ship went up to Albany to the turnaround and is headed back south again, full of scrap metal likely.

  Yes, all you’ll see by the first weekend in November is the seawall. Have to otherwise the ice floes take it away.
