This counts as a boat pic 😁. Now I go from sea level to 35,000' over the US. (That's not me in the photo I took it)

So, I got about 80 ft of almost new anchor chain over the summer.  I waited till now to try my luck at splicing.  I’ve also got a new mantus swivel to put on.

Also a pic comparing the old and new splices. I’m happy I changed it

Thank @YYZRC. I was using wrong button

I wonder if that hull was fatigued and it was only a matter of time…

Awesome. Florida boating just about anywhere is so shallow and that water looks so deceiving. Up my way if you do run aground the worst is your stuck in the mud....I would be terrified to be out side any marked chanels- and I'm surevthere are not many of those!

Yes... I jumped in and explored via snorkel before getting that close.. a wind shift would have been a disaster, but we stayed close to keep an eye on it.

    Brown brown, run aground,
    White white, you might,
    Green green, nice and clean,
    Blue blue, run right through

there are nicely marked channels,  just make sure you look at your charts as you explore them as it can take years to replace them after a storm.   And as I think I've mentioned before the red/green markers flip sides when you from from Atlantic to bayside of the keys.  Bayside aka gulf side.

Our town usually does ine but still to flooded to get on the water. St johns flows north and only drops about an in per mile to move water- and then hits the ocean in Jacksonville...rhe whole river is a big lake and is drawing down very slow...

I will be taking my son's boat in the Annapolis/Eastport parade of lights this Saturday.  I'll make sure to get some good pictures.  Anyone that might be going, make sure to say hello, we'll be in the 20' Grady white with a Christmas tree on top.

    When do you work? Lol....

Number one rule for boating in FL fresh waters...always have someone that is a bad swimmer with you. You can't out swim the gator but be able to out swim whi is with you!
