@grouch0jr Curious about that anode.  Are you in salt water?

This is my first season owning the boat. Previous owners keep it in the Chesapeake, so it's spent some time in brackish water. Who knows if they ever checked the anode.

@grouch0jr you are a bit of an over achiever! I was going to post i installed a new horn on the bow but did not get it connected. Guess I won't brag about that to much. It was like 115 here yesterday. It took more time setting up a shade with a fan than to install it. Heck, the same holes even lined up- when do I have that luck!

Had about a little over an hour run to the dock where we will be staying for the weekend. Couldn’t get the port engine over 4000 RPM’s. 4000 is what I usually cruise at so I figured I’ll troubleshoot once I arrive. I was going to replace the fuel filter but decided to check the cap. Sure enough, there was some corrosion on the terminals. Cleaned them up with some scotch brite. We’ll see how she performs on Sunday.

Brand new local Police Department boat sank last week after 2 days of heavy rain and a good bit of wind. $360k of taxpayer money in the mud. Made me check my bilge pumps.  I ordered a new -pump and will replace mine this week. The old one is more than 5 years old and doesn't sound right.

Perhaps there was something from the mfg that caused it..I was at a marina on the west coast of fl- similar boat I'm sure.  It was on the nicest lift- you could walk around the boat on it and it lowered quickly.

Had my starboard motor replaced a couple weeks ago and got my hill 4x4 props delivered today. Ready for a strong second half of the season.

What was the result? Noticed a little miss in one motor at just over idle when in gear. May do the same......

@mattie , I got power back to the port engine 👍🏻. I’m going to replace the fuel filters for good measure also.

I cleaned the exterior and cockpit area today. I was surprised at how dirty the bow was, you could see the grime rinse away.

Someone took a spill on my steps, and the middle one cracked. It didn't break all the way through, but it definitely would bend when stepped on. So I spread it open, glued it, and clamped it up. Much more rigid now.

Made my own trailer guides from schedule 40 pipe and stainless hardware,  then sime covers from Amazon,  $60 total investment.

I don't know how i get our 270 on the trailer without them...previous two boats had them.

I have 1 steep ramp we use and 2 that are fine and since this is a 192, the back floats too much using that particular ramp.

So the issue with my port engine only going to 4000 RPM’s is back. I changed the fuel filter and no change. I did notice that my port battery is dead. Couldn’t even crank it. I can crank the port side once the starboard engine is started. I shut down the starboard engine once the port started, she stayed running and the battery showed around 13-14 volts on the gauge. So I guess the alternator is working on the port side. Could a dead battery cause a loss of RPM even though the volt meter looks normal when running?

I had that issue a few years ago and it was a bad plug.

@yyrc I replaced all of the spark plugs at the beginning of the season. Do you think one could go bad that quickly?

Unlikely I would think. I would start with swapping wires and then cap/rotor between motors.

    @YYZRC !!
I wasn’t going to be able to sleep tonight so I went and worked on the boat. We’re taking my brother-in-law and sister-in-law out tomorrow and our niece and nephews. I wanted to make sure all was good.

    #1 and #2 spark plugs!!
not sure how this happened, maybe counterfeit plugs?? I didn’t take her out for a run, just started her.

WOW! That's wild! Are you worried about the missing pieces scoring the cylinder walls?

I’m hoping they eroded and burned off or went out the exhaust valve.

I hope your trip went well but looking at the pictures about the lucky- something happened to burn those plugs like that...

Wondering if it would be a good idea to change oil & check for missing pcs

Plugs usually look like that due to pre-detonation, excessive heat or lean running condition.

Probably would be a bad idea to remove them and to see what coloration they have before another run.

You monitor your temps like...a pilot.  Probably safe to rule out any overheating although raw water cooled engines tend to run less overall balanced temp wise vs closed loop.  I think the most drastic temp difference is #8 but my memory is fuzzy.

Anyway, possibly catch onto an issue, if there is one, before it becomes a major issue.
