I was reading that water in the fuel could cause a lean condition as well. I did change the fuel filters but before I did the plugs. It’s possible that was causing the issue.
I checked the two plugs that wear bad and they were both showing soot but all in tact no signs of burning up. I’m thinking that the injectors might be a little clogged. I bought some treatment, hopefully it will clear them up.
I hooked up my scan tool and there were no faults. I did notice that there was no block pressure on the port engine. How could this be, wouldn’t it be overheating? Could the sensor be bad (where is it). The Starboard engine was reading block pressure at 34.0 PSI. I also noticed that the temp gauge for the port engine is off and reads higher than it should. The scan tool on the port side showed 154 when the gauge shows 175. The port side always ran a little higher but at least I know it’s reading high.
One other thing I forgot to mention was that both engines showed fuel pressure at 2.1 psi at idle. I feel that’s impossible and they most likely wouldn’t run at 2.1 psi. Why would it show that??
Spark advanced is showing 21.8 on port and 4.1 on starboard at idle. I know that’s a big difference but advance shouldn’t be checked at idle and will vary, correct?
Had about a little over an hour run to the dock where we will be staying for the weekend. Couldn’t get the port engine over 4000 RPM’s. 4000 is what I usually cruise at so I figured I’ll troubleshoot once I arrive. I was going to replace the fuel filter but decided to check the cap. Sure enough, there was some corrosion on the terminals. Cleaned them up with some scotch brite. We’ll see how she performs on Sunday.
Well, no pics but we are on our 10 day trip and water pressure went down and temp up. So last stop I changed out impeller. Once started, I noticed a small drip from shaft so I went thru entire process again with a new pump. Glad I had everything on the boat. Thanks to @Larea, I had one ready. With Hurricane Erin we moved a bit West today. Temp was great as well as water pressure. I’m so glad I was able to to see water pressure reduction before an issue!
I have been through 3 swing arm type fuel sending units. All 3 seem to hang at 3/4 tank which really didn't give me a lot of confidence in fuel in tank. I decided to go with a reed type and immediately it was spot on. It was 98 here, i don't know what it was down in the bilge but I think I let enough sweat to start the bilge pump. I had the orientation for those bolts set for the swing arm but of course the new one wasn't the same. I also replaced the stern shower because it was old and yellowed.
I replaced my water pump after it failed, it apparently lasted 10 years according to the manufacturer date. The new one is the same pump but it's significant quieter. This was so much easier than my 280 pump, that thing was jammed way in there on the firewall.
10 years!! Congratulations ... I've never had one last longer than 3 years. On my current boat cruising full-time, I've replaced two in two years.
When I told my wife that it was 10 years she said that's not very long. But I know all the stories of them not lasting. I may buy a cheap one as a spare just in case we are at anchor and have an issue, I also changed the wires to quick disconnect for that reason as well.

I just used blade connectors I had in my collection on the boat. Male on positive female on negative. Nothing special but at least I can disconnect and replace of needed instead of cutting wires back again.
Well…I had an open cabinet space that was bothering me. I would sit in my chair drinking a beverage or three, trying to watch tv, but this open cabinet space would just keep drawing my attention. The space was actually the original space in the entertainment center where the old style tv’s would go. I had to find something to fill that space. So I put in an electric fireplace. Come October, think it’s going to be really enjoyable!

Got my Sea-Doo working again. I didn't fully connect the exhaust when I did all the work last year so it was causing an overheat in the exhaust where it mixes with water.
