I finished added some lights to the galley.   The admiral wanted more lighting over the counter.  I decided to add some under counter lights that I can then make mood lighting in the evening.  All runs off of 12V and added another Vimar Idea light switch (from GLS) to turn on/off.  It will default to what color it was left on, but can also be controlled with remote and Bluetooth (phone with app).  Also goes with music and whatever else…

The ice here is finally starting to maybe melt a bit.

Lighting look good. I visited the boat today to get masks/snorkels. All looks good for the winter layup. Mask/snorkels because as of two days ago decided the kids’ school break wasn’t crazy enough with going skiing Sunday through what was supposed to be Wednesday, I booked a flight to Costa Rica for Wednesday morning. This winter has been too cold

Ok, sorry. Please move if we have to. I came across this on a meme site and thought about this thread. To me, this is brilliant!

@Dream_Inn made me get off my @$$ and work on the boat! Last season I noticed a slight drip at the oil filter adapter at the back of the starboard engine. It’s a pain to get to and you have to remove one oil line and loosen the other to tighten the large nut on top. I don’t know how you can do it if you don’t have any space between the engines. I was able to get a wrench on it and snug it down. I think I got at least 3/4 of a turn.
I also installed the rebuilt water pump from Harden and installed new spark plugs on the starboard engine. In the fall when I had my heads done, I replaced the plugs and impeller on the port side.

Polished and protected all the clear. Also, dropped off some pieces to the canvas shop for repair.

Today I replaced the arch lights and courtesy lights with RGB LED lighting. Now I just need to wait for the lighting controller to show up 😅

Replaced my starboard side trim tab actuator. Couldn't use the trim tabs all last season because only the port side was functional.

I feel your pain Ian. Im in the same boat as you, so to speak, lol. Getting boat out of storage April 11th. Docks in hopefully sometime May, with boat splashing maybe first of June. We northerners need to start a thread "What we wished we could do to our boats today, but couldn't due to cold weather and hard water".

And yesterday I finally got the replacement VFH speaker installed. The old one didn't work, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much louder it is. Also, that was the last sun-damaged-yellow piece on the boat that needed replacing. The whole thing feels so much newer.

It is amazing what some new plastic will do! I changed out my rocker switches and it ran faster, I swear it did!

Replaced my starboard side bilge blower today. You guys think the old one overheated??? The plastic housing was melted.

Is that a burn mark on the housing or a rust mark? I wonder if there was some flames. Hopefully not!!

Honestly, I don't know if its a burn or rust. I think its a burn. This blower didn't work when I got the boat last year, but I finally decided to take a look at it today. Last season I changed the blower vent hoses, they were all messed up but didn't look burned.

Looks melted to me ... but only around the motor housing ... if it was a flame from the compartment, your flexible hoses would show burn signs. My guess is the motor was seized and it overheated ... then the plastic melted.

The blower on my last boat did the exact same thing. Scared me senseless as I could smell something burning but couldn't trace it at all until later when it was time to start the engine and no blower sound.

I removed my starboard drive, checked everything over and lubed up the splines.
I also received the hing pin bushing that was missing for the port side. I tried installing it without pulling both hinge pins, just the one and slide it in. I ended up breaking it! LoL
I have another one on order and will remove both hinge pins to install.

Dislocated my knee in a hockey game.  Got a few tears on the ligament/tendon.  Still about a week away from finding out what kind/if any surgery will be required.  Doing some physical therapy twice a day.  Leg is in a fixed brace.

The boat cover ripped in some recent storms, have a new replacement but I'm not agile/mobile enough for the admiral to let me climb a ladder and walk the boat with the 30x40 replacement cover.

Due to the drought and lack of any sort of tropical storm/depression or hurricane that wouldn't have brought much needed rain accumulation to the area last fall the lake is down nearly 7ft.  It needs to come up 2-3 foot before I feel comfortable launching without risk of coming down off of the ramp.

Normally I back in, climb the ladder on the winch post and get onto the boat between the anchor pulpit and bow rails.   At this point I think I'd have to launch, swim around to the swim platform and have someone onboard lower the drive so I can stand on the whale fin and then lift myself onto the platform.

Going to be an interesting summer if we can launch.

@PickleRick Good luck with the knee, I had surgery a couple of years ago and it's been pretty good.
