No the wiring would not be compatible. What I was trying to say is that with the advent of digital systems Floscan's analogue became redundant for new engines. I never found a substitute sensor.

Try a good heat gun instead of the torch and check it with a hand held thermometer

Around 2003 when engines became Smartcraft (Mercury) and gave fuel readings, there was less demand for their sensors.

It has to come off at some point. The question is if that is now. Def but a new nut and the only damage I can think of would be if the threads got crushed.

Cruised down to Kingston NY yesterday and cruised back this morning. Beautiful morning for on plane 30mph ride. She ran sweet both days.
