Re: Cockpit fridge
When I remove shore power from mine, I have to turn the temperature knob to off then back on for it to run on DC properly.

Re: Cockpit fridge
Easiest first check is at the DC panel. I had a loose spade connector at the breaker that was causing problems. Didn’t find it until after I had already ran a new line all the way from the panel to the fridge.
Also, if it’s a Dometic/Waeco they are known to experience an under voltage fault as they age. Check the thermostat area for a red light that blinks twice. I ended up adding a module to increase the voltage going to the fridge from 12 to 14 in order to fool the aging electronics.

Re: Cockpit fridge
Probably a bad 12 VDC connection. Check the main ground block for loose or corroded terminals. You may have to pull the fridge to check the positive connections.

Re: How Many Rinker Cruisers on Lake Simcoe?
@SimcoeRinker400, meant to go look at his boat but the weather was so good left early and anchored out Saturday. If I decide to change the logos it won't be until the end of the year as we some important decisions to make at that time. Hoping too go through Big Chute late Friday or Saturday morning, waiting for a return call from them re present situation.

Re: Vapor Lock/ Cooling issues
I agree, except I change mine every other year. But I never miss and always change it after setting for the long winter (in March or February).raybo3 said:Call me crazy but I have my impellers changed every spring. Short money for zero problems. (I may have just jinxed myself)

Re: Vapor Lock/ Cooling issues
The merc manual says no need to fill the fuel filter upon replacement, and there is a mercruiser youtube video that says the same thing... BUT it's a trap. I had the same issue a few years back, did a bunch of work and then the engine wouldn't start. I have throttle body injection so it was easy to see there was no gas flowing, quick fix but my mechanic told me it is a common trap people fall into. Always something to keep you on your toes.

Phalanx CIWS installation questions

For seagull control, I’m thinking of installing a Phalanx. My question is on a 360, would this be too heavy on the bow or radar arch? This is an early model that weights 12,500 lbs. Also, would I need a new battery bank?
