Re: Mercruiser Warning Engine Misfire Catalyst Damage
Search for "engine misfire causes" and you'll see the most common reasons such as faulty ignition (coils, distributor cap, ignition wires, spark plugs) or faulty fuel system (plugged injectors, restricted fuel filter or low fuel pressure). There are more reasons but these are the common ones.

Re: Anyone have a boat loan broker you like?
Nah, less to blow away in a storm!!
Honestly it's all about the cabin layout to me. Check it out man. Have never seen anything with wrap around windows and a REAL bedroom with a table up front. They had a winner with this boat, too bad they made less than 100 of them!!

Re: Mercruiser Oil Filters
......had remote filters on five boats with two being twins. Put a double plastic bag around the entire assembly, a couple of rags underneath, spun the filter off right into the bag. Some escaped oil would get on the rags and maybe, the odd time, a drop in the bilge. I loved the Merc remote filters - next best thing to a built-in electric oil extraction pump, which I had on the Rinker 190 with the 383 in it.

Re: What did you do to your boat today
@Cableguy Greg that looks way too easy! Do it out on a raft behind the boat! Better yet, do two at one time out on the raft! I’d show you a picture but I didn’t have a fourth hand!

Check Your Hot Water Heaters!
When I was changing the oil yesterday in the engines I noticed some salt around the hose end where the raw water goes into the hot water heater. I wiped the salt and all of a sudden I had a decent leak. I wiggled the hose and the barb and hose broke off! Luckily I found this now then it blowing off while underway. There was enough of the pipe left so I was able to just reattach the hose. I will need to cut and create a flair to hold the hose and clamp secure. I do carry a straight union to join the hoses together if the heater ever failed on me out on the water.
