    those straight line storms can be brutal- you could have 60 MPH winds plus for 2 mins and then it is gone.....

    That's exactly what happened. We ran for cover, but it caught up with us just as I was snapping the cover on. It was a very fast moving storm. Unfortunately, there was another slower-moving system behind it, so the day was shot. Glad we got off the water when we did. On the bright side, we ended the weekend yesterday with beautiful weather.

    crazy weather this summer....FL has been kind of "slow" this year....hurricane season started May or June? It does not get cranked up until now through September but we usually will have some heavy tropical type storms by now and we have not had anything....and we need the rain.
