yep first real snow my marina is having some issues so my boat is not wrapped left work early yesterday and had to build a frame and tarp it like the old days
Oh it's already sunk a few times in the last few days..
Here's today's pic of the day.. bay side..
And suddenly all those boating woes become worthwhile ...
yes but this boat was something like 13 feet and had a honda 9 hp motor on it.. gotta give it credit, it got us where we wanted to go, we saw a ton of wildlife, even a bunch of baby shark, and had plenty of gas left when back to the dock!
Guys, this a great topic that has been going on for many years. It WILL stay open, but I will delete comments that continue to take it off topic. Let's keep this one clean and going with some great pics of the day!
A friend of mine almost died like that during a game. He had a skate slice his wrist. Luckily they were able to slow the bleeding and get him to the ER quickly.
Neck guards are not required in high school but in travel for youth hockey
In Canada, neck guards are required for all minor league hockey, cannot get on the ice without them. Ref will kick players off, and award penalties ... it's pretty serious.
@MarkB the rink is 64’x80’. Pretty much takes up my entire backyard My son plays youth travel hockey…it’s crazy…for tournaments mouth guards are mandatory, but neck guards are not!?! I bet they will be changing those rules! They should have always been mandatory IMO!
This is a while ago my boys played travel I remember when the refs would check the boys for mouth guards if one of the kids forgot there’s they would “share “ one
Yes, we have a much nicer place. Arrived January 1 st. In Port Charlotte area. you are still young enough to plan your retirement, This snow bird wintering is highly recommended. Weather at home single digit, wet, snow, ect, much more pleasant in the south.
Smart thinking, One of the differences between Detroit in winter and SW FL. You are singing along with Gordan Lightfoot and the Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald ( gales of November) we are singing along with Jimmy Buffet and Margaretville. ( lost shaker of salt)
@randy56 I have mentioned my favorite area in FL for boating- have not been in the keys however. Cayo Costa, upper captiva.. all the restaurants and marinas. Little island I can't think of the name of where buffet supposedly wrote the cheeseburger in paradise song about..just east of cayo costa....and the other island right there very exclusive where presidents would stay and where they rehersed the failed bay of pigs invasion......and I hear good fishing!

So, the song was actually written about the island of Tortolla. Not Cabbage Key, which is what you are thinking of.
