Yep. If you wanna feel good watch the Disney channel. This is why I like to read my news and flip through random articles. Television news is like watching the Real Housewives of whatever ciy they are in these days.

I appreciate this tread, and all that have contributed to it. As all come from different walks of life and different parts of both country's.
It is better for myself to hear it from you that the media. (fake news) hype, and fear factor.
So here the latest on the local school system. The superintendent  says he will not require the students to ware mask when schools start. However some principal's are saying all our students will wear them, in our school.
Personally i do not believe the numbers are accurate. or death numbers. as someone mentioned earlier a young man died of cancer, but they labeled it C-19.
An example :. a man I know was tested and had the virus. He and his whole family, including any one in contact with him. Were quarantine for 14 days. Well he never got sick never had a fever. Nor did anyone else. So did he really have it?
    Boat Name :

public schools here are bouncing different plans- one of which makes too much sense for them to adopt... it's a hybrid distant learning with attendance.. a child would go to school either 2 or 3 days a week and rotate attendance each week... the other days they do the computer thing, but with better guidance the days they attend... it also solves the bus situation (no more than one child per seat?).... they're adding to this no fall break, no spring break, and a shorter Christmas break... and perhaps powering through the summer as well... ... see how quickly they run with that?

Schools - now that's another mess.  My wife has taught in public schools for 35 years.  She knows how to protect herself, and does it better than most, but those little carriers always manage to give her a cold or flu at least a couple times a year.  She almost always gets sick during the first month of school.

If schools try to open the buildings full-time, she will be among many considering early retirement or career changes.  But @rowboat212 is right:  schools will all start with some sort of hybrid plan.

These reports of the bubonic plague popping up is just more media creating panic. There’s been a number of cases of the plague every single year. It’s always been here and it’s nothing new, but now, during a pandemic, the media decides to start reporting it.

    ab. so. lute. ly.

same with tularemia- aka 'prarie dog fever'... it kills around 100 in the American South West every year.... it's also a pathogen that has been exploited, refined, and can be used as a biological weapon...

i once spoke one-on-one with the Secretary of Defense during an 'event' where tularemia was proven present via PCR testing.  We encountered it in eastern NC every year around the same time but only if the ground was remarkably wet (as in lots of rain).  We ran our tests daily, and recorded results using an immuno-assay kit, but still delivered the samples to a laboratory.... the freakin' laboratory reported to the DoD and NOT to the installation... the installation in question was a bit tweaked (rightfully so) the DoD was informed before they were.... instead of the CO fielding questions he drug me in there to do so- around 2200 hours and everybody in panic because they didn't understand the circumstances and wouldn't listen to anything but prophecies of doom..........

Rumsfeld asked me to describe the process and to give my opinion... he really screwed up when he asked me my opinion because i hung a lot of people out to dry.  I told him "a PCR will discover, at the molecular/DNA level, the presence of whatever is there- and it is and was accurate.  However, the volume of tularemia required to make someone sick or so much so that they are even symptomatic is NOT present.  Which is why we were unaware- the immuno-assay tests will only trigger IF the antibodies detect enough to actually impact people"....  The procedures were altered as a result of that... the immuno-assay tests became the primary and the PCR only used to confirm the immuno-assay results- the PCR couldn't sound the alarm by themselves.  Don't think i'm busting on PCR or the white coats that operate them- they have a very important place and the education/know-how to use them tickles the senses and sensibility of 'educated' types who are quick to dismiss anything else as 'dumbbuttery'.... kinda parallel to what we're seeing now in response to this pandemic.

I share this tale to inspire your own investigations: sure bubonic plague is present... always has been, just like covid19 will always be present... the question is if you're going to allow that presence to impact your life?  I'm NOT TALKING NOW, i'm talking after we clear the current obstacles.  I'm also offering it to suggest 'positive' results only tell a part of the story- were the sample extracted from blood? that indicates the body is compromised... was it extracted from nasal passages?  that JUST means it's 'there'- it doesn't mean the person it was extracted from is compromised because they can (and most will) defeat it with naturally present antibodies.  Covid-19 is a strain of coronavirus- and we've known about it a long time... your body has most likely been sick from one strain or another and you thought it a cold... until that covid19 impacts your immune system by breaking through a barrier, your body attacks the crap out of it and wins a FAR greater percentage of the time than it fails.... which is why you SHOULD protect yourself if your immune system is weakened for some reason... and why it isn't a big deal (except for those prophecies of doom) if your immune system is fine.

Two interesting things out of Florida today...

    1. Stay home in Key west if you don't want to wear a mask:

And it seemed like everyone on social media INCLUDING THE GOVERNOR were saying "But the deaths are staying low! It's okay! It's just the young people getting infected" regarding our record high infection numbers last week.  Well:

    2. Here's the start of the upward death curve that "science" has said was coming.
Numbers are from the DOH and just put into an easier to see format:

Right now, I am really glad I bought a comfortable mask.  I spent a LOT of time wearing it this week, including two cross-country flights.  A good mask makes a huge difference.

I bet! Kind of hoping that Florida has hit its peak...July 4th numbers should be showing now...

It's time to acknowledge the deadly role of dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) in COVID-19 cases.

One study after another has shown that virtually all COVID-19 patients with symptoms ingested DHMO within 24 hours before symptoms appeared.  Shockingly, a majority were actually taking DHMO on a regular basis!  It can't be a coincidence.  Clearly, DHMO is a major factor in this pandemic.  But where's the outrage?  Where's the action?

I'm for tough legislation.  DHMO must be outlawed.  Banned.

@LaRea I dont recognize that chemical name.  Is it an illegal drug or a supposed cure or what?

Dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Other names for this toxic substance include hydric acid, H2O, and the common street name "water".

I'm for tough legislation.  Ban DHMO now.

I don't want to ban naturally occuring DHMO.  Only the laboratory-grade stuff that has been concentrated and purified for human consumption.  People consume it as a performance-enhancing substance, and some claim it is useful in treating cancer, but the dangers are clear.
