In the last month spent about $600 on trailer. Two new hubs, 4 new barring buddy's, ect. installed myself. Just ordered 4 new tires today as they are 2016. Sam's seem to have the best deal. Carlisle brand. load D 8 ply, 81 mph, could have got by with load, C But only $6 difference each and if need be, I can run one one axle...according to the load rating . Ford did a study on tire's and said replace at 7 years.

I just put those on my utility trailer. Good tire
7 years is prob the realistic sweet spot to replace ST tires.
Yesterday trailered over to get some non e 90 Octane, it was $4.40 but at marina was $5.20 lucky for me I go a long way on $75. Those prices will not last long.
Regular with Ethanol US$5.50/Gal road price here in Toronto. Going up another 40 cents/Gal tomorrow. Another 2 months before I need boat fuel, hoping it is coming down.
You guys do not have a very good memory. Gas is always cheap over the winter. Gas prices always start to rise in March/April, and they always peak in late May. We always complain and say we can't afford to go boating. And we always go boating anyway.
Historically, prices always start to rise in March-April. Fuel is always cheapest in January, and there's always a price hike of around 15% that lasts all the way through boating season.
The details of this conversation change from year to year. This year, people mention Ukraine. In past years it was the pandemic, the Great Recession, the Gulf Wars, hurricanes, refinery fires, yada yada yada. Boaters go boating!

Yes we are not staying home. Some of you have vessel view. And have data giving you optimal cruse speed vs miles per gallon. It may be helpful to others if you share the info with others. On your size boat.
Whatever the price of fuel, we should all do what's needed to maximize that MPG figure, right? Smooth hull, fresh oil, well-maintained engine. Go slow when it makes sense. And enjoy every second of it.
