Yes, we have a much nicer place. Arrived January 1 st. In Port Charlotte area.  you are still young enough to plan your retirement, This snow bird wintering is highly recommended. Weather at home single digit, wet, snow, ect, much more pleasant in the south.
Funny you should mention that because I am 38 and we have plans to buy a condo down there in the next couple of years for our retirement days. It will be cheaper now to buy than it will be in 22 years and a good investment opportunity. We could also Airbnb it if we wanted until then. We are 2 years away from being debt free and then we will be looking once we have the cash to pay in full.
I would wait till the crash starts and ends

@shawnmjr Paying your house off at 40 is quite an accomplishment, you have been careful with your money. And must have a great income. Not very many can make that happen. My hat is off to you. It's a great feeling it was in 2006 I was 49 . What a great day it was and will be for you. Now you know how old I really am.
Keep working hard at it, (worth It)
You are above average. I'd peg the average age that a mortgage is paid off somewhere around 55-60.

I purchased the Dave Ramsey book and gave it to my boy's when they were about 20. Both have followed his teaching and both are doing well. Let your buddies tease, you will have the last laugh.

I wonder if this Dave Ramsey fellow would say to not own a boat, rather know someone with a boat. My financial guy said this to me once.

My philosophy also,  I have never had a loan on a boat.

Where in the keys is that?

Baja Honda state park? 1 or 2 Islands below the 7 mile bridge? Veterans park is directly below the 7 mile bridge.  It has more sea grass. Good for snorkeling.

I think that's what my transmission looked like when I towed my boat the first time 😂.

    Aero.
Nothing like a natural fireplace. We had one in our old house and loved it. I don’t get all these modern imitation ones . Love to hear the snap and crack of a real log burning

@Dream_Inn ok just gonna say it.  John you suck.  Your timing for being in Mexico is impeccable.

If you're somewhere warm and sunny, I'm jealous but happy for you. This was a couple of hours ago when I went out to blow snow. Got almost another 6 inches since then.

I don't always time it right, but this was good.  Was really tempted to take a ride on the 342, but they wanted 180 bucks an hour.
