    Unfortunately with power and communications lines, it sometimes takes longer than one thinks. They concentrate on the biggest pockets that they can get back on at once, then work from there. If they can get 500 people on, but a few left off, they will do that, roll on to the next large pocket, then circle back to grab the individuals that were missed. I understand the frustration. Since I am on the communication side, I usually have to wait for the power guys to get done before I can start my work getting the cable back on. Sometimes the cable power supply is the only thing off and the power guys put us at the bottom of the list, even though we carry 911 communications over our lines. There is a method to their madness.

    .....and Steve when I stayed in Ft. Meyers, two years ago, they were shooting each other and the weather was great. Triple homicide as well in Cape Coral. It doesn't seem to take much for gun play to erupt.

    Aruba right now Steve. Turks later - December to March. I have been told by friends on the islands (T&C) that the headlines were a lot worse than reality. There was damage , particularly to the less expensive non-windproofed housing. I think it was @Raybo who said, regarding news casts: ratings, ratings, ratings.

    Tried to put my boat in the water to test for leaks- all the ramps are closed due to flooding....our downtown will have some flooding...

    I feel ya rasbury - I'm in Charleston, not flooding, but since Irma we've had 20+ MPH winds pretty much daily. Single engine I/O in tidal waters with a crosswind - I'm not going to bother with trying to get on/off the trailer and away from the dock without hitting anything. Hopefully the weather cooperates soon.

    It will be two months at least before we can get back into the water...and the marinas can start to assess the damages. We are probably done until the spring, at least in the river we boat. Will need to he's over to the coast. So many homes and businesses still flooded out with no end in sight. St johns river runs from a little south of central Florida around Melbourne and then runs up to Jacksonville and out to the ocean- three hundred miles of nothing but flood.

    I still don't know that I solved my leak- not putting in salt water until I know, everything else is flooded.

    Well, winds finally died off, but we had lightning all day. Tomorrow is rain, then Wednesday looks boatable - so I'm crossing my fingers!

    I would not say that to the folks in Puerto Rica! My river is flooded about 7 ' over flood and house are flooded out for 350 miles...just does not make the news.

    Our adjuster only showed up yesterday. Repairs to our complex to start next week. That took a while.

    @rasbury - a buddy of mine is selling his 270, and he's wondering if there might be a market in Florida this winter for people who lost their boats in the storm.  What do you think?  Opportunity, or too soon?

    I have not heard any massive stories of boat losses- that being said fl is a huge boat market- how does he plan to market a boat for sale in fl when its not there? I looked at one in Texas before I found mine in Florida but was searching for this boat- did not stumble across it.
