My 5e was great…once I got it running. Was a pain from day 1 when new. Aside from maintenance and some smaller issues, once I took the service panel off the sound cover it ran like a champ. lol

I have a tech there now working on it. I just talked to him and that is what he is planing. Going to bypass all the controls and see if it will start then. From what I have researched is that that particular Generator is pretty much a POS. I had no issues with my 5e on my 342. had a 1000 hrs on it when I sold that boat. Anchor Locker Gas Spring Mod
I added a gas spring to the anchor locker lid on my 2008 350. This will work on the 2008+ 330/340/350/360 and 370ex. Maybe on other models, too.
I mounted a 17” gas spring 28# as shown in the pics. Not much to explain as the install is straight forward. About $30 in total for the gas spring (Amazon) and the 10mm stainless ball mounts (I used Sierra brand).

Waste vent filter is pretty mechanical. If you've replaced media & vent lines aren't plugged....I'd bet it's the sanitary hoses.
Thanks. When I pulled it out of the old boat to put it in the new one I had to replace all the adjoining hoses. If you put your sniffer around the filter itself then you can smell the odour . I just think that maybe over time the plastic leaks the goods

@echandler1971 think about the physics. How hard could a skier's arms pull on your boat? Guessing 25-30 pounds while skiing? Maybe 50 pounds for a few seconds when trying to get up? Your 8-ton boat won't even notice it. Go for it!
