My boat has 3 underwater lights, all are physically broken or otherwise not working. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the lights, except that I'm worried that they will leak. They are SeaBlazeX.
I would replace, but they appear to be $300+ per light (?!)
@YYZRC , sorry I forgot to measure the microwave inclosure for you! I’ll get it later today or tomorrow. I installed my new windless foot switches. I couldn’t pull out any wire to find the splices. I looked in the anchor locker behind the mirror, no luck. What I ended up doing was use the original wire and contacts. I just unscrewed them and was able to slide them out of the old housing and into the new, then screwed them into the new. The 3 screws and base are sealed with 3M 4200.
The puck in my toilet doesn’t return to the fully closed position after flushing and therefore doesn’t seal. If I give it a nudge with the toilet brush it will close up fine. What can I do to fix this?
The base of the bowl has a clamp on it. Remove the clamp and bowl. Once the bowl is removed you can see if there is any thing that needs to be cleaned up. Also replace the seal, that can be holding it up.
@YYZRC agree with aero on separating the 2 halves of the toilet to investigate. And if you've gone that far, replace the gasket for the flapper and for the 2 halves. My problem was the flapper had slight leak, and would not hold water. The trickiest part for me was putting the 2 halves back together. They developed a leak after replacing the seal (?).
From my picture, there is a steel band clamp around 2 plastic pieces (making a circle) that holds the 2 porcelain pieces together. When put together, the 2 plastic pieces won't meet all the way around. There will be about a 1" gap on 1 end, or you can space it to have about 1/2" gap at both ends. Some youtube videos made a real big deal about how to space them, others did not. And also on which side to place the steel clamp screw. I would say try and replace it in the same positions as original.
I ended up trying clamp in various positions before it finally stopped leaking. Frustrating but finally worked.
@Spyderweb , if you look closely at the plastic clamps, two ends have arrows pointing and says front. You put these two ends together at the front and there will be about an inch gap on the backside of the plastic pieces. Put the clamp on and tighten down.
Wow, never knew that. Guess those youtube videos aren't always complete. So this would put the clamp screw in the back. Not sure how mine is right now, but it wasn't leaking at end of year, so I'm not touching it.
Yea, when I first installed mine I had the gaps even on each side. When I tighten down the clamp that’s when I noticed it was marked. I found installation instructions online and it stated that’s how to install it. If yours isn’t leaking, let it be!

Any suggestions on a cheap replacement?

@aero3113 Nice job on the windlass switches.
