What did you put in place of the old control location?
I'm having the hole filled along with a rod holder that was mounted on the ledge above it.

I wondered why my boat was so shiny and not cloudy at all after the winter. Turns out a PO had the hull painted. It seems to be a good job but it’s going to be a headache fixing up a few nicks and scratches.

Like the fact that you have the whole platfrom. Let use know if it affects time to plane.

I bolted two “receivers” under the swim platform. Inside the platform I have SS plates with bolts welded to them and starboard between the plates and the fibreglass to distribute the load better. Shockingly, everything lined up perfectly! I slide SS box beams into the receivers and the dinghy sits on Hurley H2O davits.

With this setup winter storage is easy, no holes in the top of the swim platform, no toe killers, and the platform is unencumbered for docking or BBQing.

BBQ mount almost done. A bit too high but otherwise works great. Pivots so it can be moved out of the way when not in use.

Thank you for all your help with measurements - it wouldn’t be done yet if I hadn’t had the head start over winter!

Has anyone seen a source for rings to hold breakers in place? One of mine fell off and I can’t find a similar one. Temporary solution isn’t so elegant  :#

They look to be the same size and style as a lamp nut. Holds the light socket in place. The two on top left.

That was the first pic I came across but just about any hardware or electrical supply store should have them.

Does anyone have a marine bbq tank? Opinion? Getting tired of the little green ones.

Have not but have researched it. The marine rated tanks I've seen are composite structure and run between $200 - 300 CDN plus another $50 to 100 for the adapter hose. I quickly made the decision to eat the cost of the 1 LB tanks. I wait until I see a sale and just buy a case. But we probably only use about a dozen a year. For a weekend out on anchor I'll bring 3, the current in use and two new and have never run out, usualy have a full and a half left. If you BBQ at your slip quite a bit though it may be worthwhile.
Now block your eyes all you heavy duty reg's guys....but I also own the adapter that allows me to re-fill my 1 Lb'rs from a 20 LB home tank. Had to buy it in the US as they are banned in Canada. Amazon.com used to ship them, but no longer. And yes, reg's state you cannot transport a re-filled 1 LB tank.
So far I have not taken any on the boat. I burn way more propane ice fishing in the winter, often go through 3 or 4 tanks a day so I use the re-fills for that, from the tanks I emptied on the boat in summer. In 6 years I have never had one fail and always carefully weigh the tanks before and after fill and then check for leaks. Although I don't like the idea of carrying them out on the water, I'd probably be OK with using them at the dock but have not as of yet. Cost of a re-fill is about $2.
Another consideration is that even if I sprung for the cost of the marine tank, finding spots to re-fill them is getting tougher, most places now is tank exchange only. Costco and some older Canadian Tire's still have re-fill sites. And I'd be worried about running out so I'd still probably carry a couple of 1 Lb'rs, so I figure why bother?
Only way I see it making sense is as a live aboard and have two of them, one always full.

All good points. I hate the environmental impact of the green tanks. I’m going through 3/week right now.

I hear you. They are recyclable at the right facility. Some marinas have a special collection for them. At 3 a week a refillable tank might be worthwhile. My really old 1 lb tanks I use for sighting in my 30.06 before moose season after which they are perfectly safe for recycling as scrap metal. 😆

The impact isn’t insignificant. I would say it has almost doubled my time to plane but I am hoping to negate some of that with the new props.

It doesn’t drag at all but it does catch a bit of the wake when coming off plane.

Finally a bit of progress on the galley. Having trouble finding a whisper latch to match.

    Also added a fan.

nice job.  I need to install some lighting like that in our 330.  i like the storage up top as well.  Not good storage in the 330.

Replaced the incandescent “indirect lighting” with LED, re-wired to the switch that used to control the 70s style lighted mirror.

I would go with fewer LEDs if I could do it again, I had these laying around. They are a bit too bright.
