It's coming back, sorry to tell ya. All Indiana schools will require mask, students, and teachers, staff. We just jumped up to 49 new case's in our county next to us. Local collages, are requiring mask.  It appears not enough people got vaccinated. Ya cannot fix stupid. 38 new case's reported in one week in the county south of us.

I have my doubts about fauci and any chance he has of being credible in any way..  Not sure how he gets so much liberal support.   He was in big phamas  pocket back during the aids epidemic.   He was pushing treatment  that was killing  a good 80% or more of aids patients.   American doctors  went to Mexico  in order to administer  well known treatment that worked  yet big pharma didn't want to compete with.  All for financial purposes, innocent  people were made to die a horrible deaths.  This is well documented info, an aids victim  took his case to the Supreme Court  in order to get his treatment.

Now we have a vaccine that is still in clinical trials being given for free to Americans.   Vaccinated people are still getting/spreading covid as well as the new delta variant.  Fauci is still denying  the health issues caused by the emergency fda approved  vaccines found in animal testing just as he has denied his signing off on funding to the lab that created/released  covid 19.  Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he also publicly deny its origin in China until recently when the paper trail/whistle blowers  finally get too public to deny?

We are all intelligent people. Many of us do our own boat work.  Would you wear your  Walmart/Amazon purchased mask while you sanded your boat and set down polyester resin/gel coat?   Viruses are much smaller than those fiber glass particles.

Its a difference of opinion, an act of caution to not be vaccinated by a still very experimental drug.  Calling those of us stupid who do not want to risk getting a vaccine that's  unproven  is a bit insulting.

Cancer patient here, monthly transfusions. Former teacher of high school advanced math/chemistry/biology courses and a former school principal. Never was worried about C19. Huge molecules - one of the biggest. IF exhaled drop to the ground almost immediately. IMO the Pfizer vaccine is "generally" safe (got my two shots and will get a booster) but respect those who decline to - best defence - was, is and always will be: wash hands and keep fingers out of mouth, nose and eyes. If you cough, cough into your sleeve/arm. Wear a mask if you want to. IMO we will look back on this entire episode as one of dramatic over-reaction and fearmongering propagated by an uneducated press, politicians and doctors with their own agendas and hyper fearful of liability. IMO the real damage has been to the economy, many family relationships and to the next generation of babies who will have inadequate immune responses due to a lack of peer contact in infancy as well as school-aged children which Teachers' Federations agree have been socially and psychologically harmed by isolation. A mess that did not have to be this bad.

Good debate. It's here and making a come back. Glad you are here to debate. this is the latest update from my state. And a few  fact's from research. You may not die from it, as we all know those who had it and survived.

INDIANA (WFIE) - On Thursday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 1,284 new coronavirus cases and six new deaths.

Indiana’s pandemic total is now 769,875 confirmed cases and 13,570 deaths

COVID-19 vaccines are effective. However, a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus that causes it. These are called “vaccine breakthrough cases.” This means that while people who have been vaccinated are much less likely to get sick, it will still happen in some cases. It’s also possible that some fully vaccinated people might have infections, but not have symptoms (asymptomatic infections). Experts continue to study how common these cases are.

Large-scale clinical studies found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting COVID-19. Research also provides growing evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) offer similar protection in real-world conditions. While these vaccines are effective, no vaccine prevents illness 100% of the time. For any vaccine, there are breakthrough cases.

Together with our research colleagues at King’s College London, we looked at data from 1.1 million app contributors who had logged one or both doses of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine in the app between 8th December 2020 and 14th May 2021.

We saw that 2,394 and 187 people tested positive for COVID-19 more than two weeks after their first and second jabs, respectively, with the chances of becoming infected falling as time passed.

That’s the equivalent of one in 500 (0.2%) and one in 3,333 (0.03%), although your individual chances of getting infected after vaccination will depend on the prevalence of COVID-19 in your area at any given time.

Reassuringly, only 104 people in the vaccinated group who tested positive for COVID-19 ended up in hospital (one in 2,500 or 0.04%).

In Louisiana, 97% of the state's COVID-19 cases and deaths since February have been in unvaccinated people, Gov. John Bel Edwards said Friday. Between February and July, unvaccinated people in Louisiana were 20 times more likely to become infected with COVID-19, according to the state health department.

My reaction to second AZ jab.
    16 Hours, no symptoms
18 Hours, sweating, hallucinations, very high temperature.
20 Hours, back to no symptoms.

Do you know that only one person died of the Vid in DC in July with a population of 700K plus?
  • PickleRickPickleRick Member Posts: 4,038 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have know of far too many people locally that died of long term illnesses or other natural causes only to be listed as "covid" deaths on the death  certificate  to trust any media statistics. The local news stations  ignore their surviving families pleas to not have their loved one be used as another death statistic to push the covid hype.

Completely agree with Randy. The overwhelming data from numerous global reputable studies shows that the vaccine prevents the virus including the delta. Frankly I am sick any tired of respecting healthy people’s decision to not get vaccinated. Those days are over. They are the problem, they are the spread, and they are the reason this thing continues to grow. They are the reason mask mandates are coming back. They are out in public unmasked which shows a complete lack of respect for….well…. Everyone but themselves. They site generalizations made by the uneducated rather than facts and science as cited by Randy. I do not support government mandates to be vaccinated but I do hope that final FDA approval later this year drastically improves vaccine rates.

The vaccinated  are still getting AND spreading  covid, therfore  unvaccinated people are not the problem. With a virus  that is commonly  asymptomatic  your guesstimate that the vaccine helps you get over the virus more quickly can only be just that, a guesstimate.

I also refuse to participate in any and all mask mandates.   I fully support  the right for a business owner to require  masks in their place of business.  I will, however, choose to do my business else where.  I thank God im in a state that allows my rights to come before the feelings of others.

The root of the problem  is the media and government  pushing for anything  Fauci  says.   He signed off on the funding for the Wuhan lab this came from  and unless he doesn't read paper work he knowingly  sent  countless American dollars  to China to create this hybrid virus.  The  subject/purpose of the viral study was plain as day in the document despite fauci and his cronies aka  counsel  condemning such work.  Why is Hollywood/the media and our government  so set on defending China?

Your anger is justified but aimed in the wrong direction.  Fauci and his supporters are enemies of the state and thier funding  directly caused the release of a viral weapon  on an unsuspecting  population.  This was an act of treason on his part along with his associates as well as an act of war on the part of China.   This was done for financial gain, extending  government reach and political agenda.

So please be angry but make sure its justified.

I guess my opinion is about as justified as US funds being sent to virology study in a lab, in China, that was working on research  to modify viruses in order to make them more deadly. This is after the US ruled to to ban all funding for such labs.   So money  sent  illegaly money over seas and signed off on by "America's  doctor ".

It sounds like a terrible conspiracy theory....I wish it was.

I miss the days when the crap that Alex Jones and the Simpsons  predicted  were  all deemed too unrealistic to happen.

So, I have a lot I could say on this, but I'm literally heading to the boat.  So, in short, let the virus go thru all those that don't want to get vaccinated.  More of them will be hospitalized.  So be it.  Time to boat!

Oh, thank those that have gotten vaccinated because without it, there would be more deaths.

I sincerely hope none of you get it, or your family's. As stated no vaccine is 100% effective. As stated 1 in 500 may still get it if vaccinated.  Only 50% have been vaccinated in the US. Nobody like's to be told what to do. However the 50% unvaccinated are spreading this virus. Here's are a few facts. As we should base our decision's based on fact's not emotion.

States with high rates among unvaccinated people

The adjusted rates in several states show the pandemic is spreading as fast among the unvaccinated as it did during the winter surge. Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Nevada and Louisiana all have coronavirus case spikes among the unvaccinated, with adjusted rates double or triple the adjusted national rate. The adjusted rates of Utah, Kansas, Alabama and Alaska are slightly lower than those states.

Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia have adjusted rates below the national average. In the region, however, lower vaccination rates in the Black community have concentrated cases there to an extraordinary degree. Before vaccines, Black people represented about one-third of new coronavirus cases in Maryland and half in D.C. In the latest data, Black people represent just under half of the new cases in Maryland and more than 80 percent in D.C.

Health experts say state vaccination rates are the main difference that defines outbreak severity, with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky calling the latest outbreak a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”

Dr. Brian Strom, chancellor of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences in New Jersey, told NBC News that unvaccinated individuals infected with the delta variant have more than 1,000 times as many viral particles in their respiratory systems as those infected by the original strain.

I regularly visit two very big hospitals in specialist wings. Off the record conversations with nurses have educated me. The numbers attributed to C19 deaths are IMO dramatically over estimated, with FLU and co-morbidities included. Why? IMO to drive the need for vaccinations and for health care to access massive government grants. I have been told that hospitals are feasting on grants for special C19 sites (often empty or near empty) equipment and payments for every identified C19 patient. The PCR amplification test is a joke with a minimum of 50% error. In fact the PCR test will often, by virtue of its very amplification process, identify a C19 molecule(s) that are no longer any threat whatsoever but merely artifacts of a previous n0n-event exposure. What the response from many medical "professionals" and Government Agencies has done IMO is erode public confidence to the point of mockery at their conflicting, erratic and often completely unscientific pronouncements. Like SARS, AIDS, EBOLA etc. etc. etc. we will be with this (or mutated variants) forever. Viral outbreaks that are not deliberately generated by science or defense labs (Wuhan - China, Winnipeg - Canada) are the result of nature responding to massive overcrowding coupled with highly unsanitary conditions (India, Brazil, China ......

At my age and lung history I am fully vaccinated.  99% of new cases are persons not fully vaccinated in Canada. Time will tell who is right and who is wrong, I'm betting on that I was right.

You guys dont think that 1.5 million illegal immigrants coming accross the border in 6 months with most of them infected, and transported all over the US at our expense has nothing to do with the surge? Look at the US sick map! Its red from San Diego all the way to Savanah!!!!
  • PickleRickPickleRick Member Posts: 4,038 ✭✭✭✭✭
You guys can disagree with me all you want.  I invite you to do your own research on Fauci.

How many oppressed  countries fly the US flag as a sign of freedom during their protests?  Its our right to freedom and personal choice that makes the idea or our country so great.  Its what brought many of our ancestors here.

Now we are in an age where the media is making Christians, conservatives and those that hold traditional family  values as enemies of the state.   They are prosecuting the Jan  6 "riots " while  they urged rioters  to burn and loot cities  across the country....Antifa  organizers got paid and celebrities/government officials raised money for their legal defense.

People who wish to conserve history and culture are considered by media to be racist bigots.

Care to stroll down history  to another time where  a government purposely divided its people against one another in order to seize complete control? Does Cuba come to mind ? Perhaps Nazi Germany?

Love your fellow boat and regular neighbor .   Engage in polite  debate with your  differences .   A divided country is an easily distracted country .   Conservatives, liberals and in between...if we want to keep our differences of opinion then we need to all open our eyes to the wedge being driven between us.  Calling the other guys stupid over their beliefs solves nothing.

We all have a common enemy and it's not  the guy who voted Biden  or Trump.  We have a push for censorship, a push for control that threatens the very fabric of which this country was established .

The Obama administration didn't install  the internet  kill switch  to preserve freedom.

@PickleRick. Social media companies have that kill switch and use it everyday with the Dems approval. They used to be for Liberty. Don’t know what happened

I am sorry but NOT vaccine for myself. You are taking a vaccine which it was financial by the same people who financial the oversea lab. plus it still missing the final approve by FDA. my to cent, but i respect everyone who got their shot.

USA is going for the same route we took in cuba after 1959 and you may don't see it yet, but believe i was there for 18 year of my life and i can see where are we going in america now. But you don't need to believe look who are in congress now. I don't have any other country to move so i will enjoy the rider with my drinkers meaning Rinker brothers

Search Bidens brother and see his history of scamming healthcare organizations. Our local hospital closed a few years ago due to the scam he was running. It is still closed. He wasn't directly involved from the reports I read but was in cahoots with the guy that did it. I can see this hospital from my deck.

I am double vaccinated, although a mix of AZ and Moderna which is not recognized as safe for travel to the US /Europe. I lost my sense of taste and smell for a year and a half and trust me quality of life suffers big time and I don't want to go down that road again. I do not like that fact that a US company had their hand in a Chinese lab working on anything. It was better thinking it was a bat sandwich that started all of this. If science got us into this mess, then science has to  get us out of it.

  • PickleRickPickleRick Member Posts: 4,038 ✭✭✭✭✭
I still can't take any medical advice from the doctor  that sent our money to China to create  a virus that is turned around to be used on us.

Im not not anti vaccine. Small pox was a mandatory vaccine for the US continental army under Washington. It also had a 30% death rate compared to the sub 1% of covid.

Oscar and boat man bring up good points about the career politicians who are in control of our country today.  These are indeed evil people and if they are not evil they associate or are funded by evil people.

Jeris ice cream.  Sounds dumb right? Its all over  Pelosis  drunken  social media videos, 12 bucks a pint.  Jeri is a huge DNC contributor. She has flavors  named after or for her favorite politicians.   That's all welll and good but Jeriis a chairman on the board for Wexner....the same one who paid Epstine to recruit young ladies  for their buddies and parties.  Call me a conspiracy theorist but all these ties are public knowledge.   Common sense tells me that if you are a good  person, even a politician would break ties with these people and refuse their dirty money.   You don't accept millions without  being asked favors .   High ranking officials have stepped down from prestigious universities over taking  Epstines dirty money....why are politicians not doing the same?

Before I sound  pro republican  I bet jeris has a mitch McConnell turtle truffle  ice cream too.

@halifax212.....don't forget that Canada's Winnipeg Lab had direct links with the Wuhan Lab and that two Chinese scientists from the Winnipeg Lab left with samples of Ebola and other viruses. There was an attempt by Canadian authorities to cover the incident up and it is still under investigation. Canadians can not point fingers in this affair as we have had some ridiculously incompetent security breaches - particularly pertaining to China.
